Guy nailed it with being electrolysis.. it’s not just adding annodes though it can be more than that.

I barely understand the shit but my old man was smart and he basically explained to me that with a Mercathode there is basically a battery going on in the water behind the boat.. with that small amount of electricity it was sacrificing the anodes instead of the rest of the stuff..

Check and make sure the anodes are good and make sure your mercathode is working and hooked up right.. after that ya might need more Annodes?

With Teague power I’m not sure if you even have a mercathode? If ya don’t the anodes are not nearly as effective. Maybe get one.

Man .8 miles to the gallon is thirsty!

Roughly 84 mile round trip from the springs to pirates and back.

Still a badass boat!

As long as we can cruise 60-70mph with some chop I’m happy.

What do I know, but is that fuel gph normal for that motor? I did miss the hp the boat has but to get 1 gpm is nuts.

Congrats on your new float Chris. Kudos to you for setting your mind and getting after it.

Unfortunately power=fuel consumption. Your 280’s aren’t fuel sippers either, but that’s a way lighter package.

Now for the real question: which one are you bringing to the DCB Regatta?😁

Wish I had better pics of my old boat/setup but I don’t. I relatively used my tabs the same as you described. Mainly to get on plane and to get thru hop here and there. Only other time I used them was if my fat ass and all the weight was on the same side and I had the ladies on the other. I’d slightly drop one to remove the “lean” I’d feel. Don’t know if that was the right thing to do, but it worked.

I know that you said you did not have better images. But did you swap out the tabs? Looks like two different setups on purple and one polished. They also look to be in two different locations.

Pshhh easy. I'll drive he drives the other. Hahahaha just kidding Chris! I don't want to be responsible for breaking anything.

It looks like he may have had both? Tunnel tabs and trim tabs.
Oh….I did not know that there were two different types. So looking back at @ChrisV set up. I guess then these are tunnel tabs Since they are in the area that I would call a tunnel. Sorry for the stupid questions I have not had the opportunity to look at things this close. 👍

Definitely the 26. Almost killed ourselves last year trying to keep up. Hopefully I can change couple things on the 26 to make it more my style. Not sure what exactly cause its pretty much dialed.

No I had both fixed tunnel tabs and sponson tabs. Just didn’t have a pic that showed both in the same frame.

Thanks man!

As for the tabs. It’s definitely something I’m trying to get use to. Yesterday I was cruising at 60 and it would hop so much it’s annoying. So I said fuck it, power through it. Got to 80-90 and hop got better but too fast cruising with the kids. Put the tabs to +1 down and hop went away. Now I question if that’s the right thing to do? Supposedly you don’t want it down while turning? Or it’s down a lot? Again so many questions.
May I suggest the Tres Martin school.

You burned 120-150gallons of fuel to go from the Springs to Pirates and back to the Springs? That seems like a crazy amount of fuel unless you are running wide open the whole way.

I've done that run in my Mach 26 countless times with about the same power. 800+ish HP just EFI, 509ci w/3.3 Whipple makes 8.5psi of boost and that's almost double what I burn. I want to say the tanks are 45gallons a side, so 90gallons total when it's full. I usually have around 1/4 tank at the end of the day. I think last time out we actually started the trip down to the Spings from Pirates with 3/4 tanks and still made it back up river not fully on E. I usually cruise at 58mph(just before the slight hop) on the way there, and usually running between 70-100mph on the way back.

I also had a 22 before stepping up to the 26. I've had mine for almost 10 years now and will probably keep it forever. Your 26 looks 👌 👍

That’s for two days. We went to pirates sat and Sunday.

I’m gonna probably bring the boat to someone who can check the carbs to see if everything is good. Then go from there. Maybe convert it to efi down the line but not sure if it’s worth it.

Congrats! Both of your boats are on the bucket list for me. Sadly, I think the timeline to own a 22' DCB with twins passed me up!

Love the 26!
