I finally pulled the trigger on my triple axle trailer down at schiada. Here are some of the build pics as it is being built. Its gonna have 17" torq thrust 2's with stainless fenders. disc brakes, frenched L.E.D's, swing away tongue, cat walk, extended rear steps for longer cav plates, and rollers in the back.

How much $ ?

Im bringing them the wheels and tires, taking care of the powder coating, and all the lights and wiring. Basically they are building me the chassis and thats it! You would have to call stan at the van nuys shop for a price.

Nice, you'll love those disc brakes, Mike will hook you up on that build, you sure you want it powdercoated, the Cardinal Hi-Solids paint they used to use at Ellis was some nice stuff, held up extremely well, may want to think about that ???
One thing I did on mine when I did the catwalk flooring was seal the wood prior to covering it with the marine grade carpet and used all stainless fasteners.
Keep us posted.

Scott, I originally wanted to use the cardinal Hi-Solids paint, but I cant find anyone out here that does it. Im definetely gonna seal all the wood for the cat walk before I cover it too.

Im going with black! It would be waaaay too much yellow if I did the trailer yellow too. I agree with you on the white also.

I'd do it yellow if it was me Mark.. :) Black doesn't really match anything on the boat? (not that it won't look sick)

Maybe a pewter grey with yellow tones? or vice versa.

Mark,

There is a Cardinal Dealer by the Sky Harbor Airport here in Phoenix, pretty reasonable for a gallon, I think I paid around $75, you could maybe see if Zieman in Havasu would spray it for you?

Here are a few updated pics from today.

Rollers are installed

Corners rounded on extended steps

Stainless bezel that I had made to fit 15" L.E.D's

Aluminum spacer that I had made so I could use the center cap of my wheels to still work with bearing buddys. (There is a clearance issue without using this spacer)

How much for 6 spacers? I have torque thrusts sans center caps on the 27' trailer. :D

Mark, couldn't you just make a little wheel spacer that goes behind the wheel so the center caps would fit still? Or were you concerned about that making the trailer too wide?

I could've done that, but didnt want it to wide. Someone also mentioned that I could have also machined 3/4" off of the bearing buddy, but when I asked about it, they said the way the bearing was assembled you wouldnt be able to do it. This was the easiest and most cost effective way I think.

Just my thoughts: Black trailer with some tasteful yellow pinstriping matching the yellow off the boat would look cool. Great job on the spacers for the wheels and caps!

I was gonna do black, but i'm actually leaning towards a charcoal gray now. I just think yellow is gonna be too much yellow!

Looking good Marc!

The box that creates the rudder/prop guard, are you planning to infill that space? Polished diamond plate would look nice there, help protect the prop from road rash and if one of the 15" leds is goin in that slot forward would look bitchin at nite!

I didnt plan on filling that space. A 15" led is going in the slot that is already cut.

V-Drive axles have a "V Bend" in the middle instead of being totally straight like the ones pictured. I guess they make them so that there is clearance for the Fin and the underwater gear.

I moved my bow stand up a 1/2-inch on my 22 trailer for this very reason so when my boat is winched up in the bow roller my fin will be ahead of the axle so when it travels up it wont tap my skag

Mike at schiada told me that the "V-Drive" ones are way more exagerated than the ones pictured.

So post some pics of the " V-drive axles"

They are suppose to be here on Tues. of next week. The one you see in the pic, is the wrong one. He was just using it as mock up so he knew where to mount the steps and fender. Your axles on your schiada do not have a "v-bend" in them because they are mounted with leaf springs, so they sit down lower. Mine are torsion bar, so on a v-drive they need extra clearence for the underwater gear.

That makes sense.

That makes sense.

There only 2' long on my trailer, they dont go across the center, I thought it was pretty slick, keeps the whole center of the trailer open.
