He also negotiated a two post car lift that will sit where the boat is. It’ll be installed within a week. He was really hoping the lift could somehow go on the far bay and fit the RV between the posts, but that isn’t going to work at all.

The Howard will sit in the middle bay in the winter. It definitely will be a tight squeeze with everything in it.

I’ll post more pictures once we get it a bit more cleaned up.

Honestly- we have no clue what we just did, but we will figure it out. Currently looking up others Daytonas to see what it may have originally looked like.

Post any recommendations..
So far our list is..

1. Get the hatch fixed
2. Trailer Bearings
3. Order a windshield

Good luck with the windshield. I finally gave up after 5 years of searching for one for my Cougar.

Oh that sucks! I hope it isn’t that hard to get one. I was thinking of the guy in Santa Ana. I have to search for his name.

There is someone that makes them and I've been racking my brain but for the life me I can't remember who

When I knew even less about boats than I do now, there was something like this often up north of the Needles bridge. I'd hear it coming, and go to the porch to see it. Always loved that type of hull/boat design. Being an owner of more mundane stuff, they just seemed more exotic. Like a sports car that looks fast at all speeds.

Congratulations on the new addition! You now have a fleet ;)

Nice......congrats. looks like a fun runner. Trim high n let it fly......just don't kite it...
That gets spendy and can be a bit painful.

Looks like my old eliminator with a much better color scheme View attachment 1413442 View attachment 1413443 View attachment 1413444 . Bitchin boat. I’d repower it with a built 300x, but most would prefer the 300 pro max for better fuel consumption. The old mercury 2 strokes are a lot of fun on there. Cruising up river to Topock for dinner midweek was the best. We usually had the river to ourselves coming home. That boat felt just like flying..
What year is this boat?
I’m trying to remember the time line of the Michigan Eliminator?

Part of me was thinking those molds went to Michigan in 85-6ish.

However.
I remember your boat being built in Mira Loma.
Gelcoater guy named Rod Rothrock shot it, it was a formidable job back then.
He was a little slow on the process but his lines and execution were always very precise.
Rod was at the time Bob’s brother in law.

I’m thinking your boat is an 88-89?
So, my memory is a bit fuzzy apparently😂😂

It was an 87 or 88. It was originally a twin. There were 4 built in that gel scheme. One of the other ones is still down in Blythe, and that one still has twins. One sank, and not sure on the 4th..

I’m just going off what the kid who owned that other one told me. You would probably know a lot better than him. He has told me plenty of tall tales. I got the boat from my FIL who bought it from Walt around 2016ish… I have a great memory, it’s just real short.

Im under the impression, there were 4 in pink and teal, and they werent all the same year. Mine was an 1988 had a 300pro max (now owned by a guy that regularly goes to havasu with a 300 opti), Chads i believe is a 1990 with 220 lasers usually seen in blythe (like mine was). I was told one sank??, and one was painted (but i thought i heard it was cut into a jet boat?).

“We will just run it as it is.” That lasted 24 hours before he started to really look at the boat.

We have 25 gallons of premix that’s at least 5 years old to get rid of.. I need to call the city hazard center and see how to dispose of that.

Robert is now going to rewire it all and I’m sure change out things as he goes.

If anyone has some interior pictures, can you post them? Thank you!

Jay did my Windshield on my Baker and also bought my windscreens from him for the HTM. Great guy! Just remember, he is a one man shop and in HIGH demand!

How old are the trailer tires?

Your list is growing 😁 As much as you're doing, I'd upgrade trailer lights to LED if you do much towing. Not very expensive and they look a lot better.
Gonna be sweet once you get it all done. Looking forward to seeing your update pics 👍

For the old gas, If you are a Chino or San Bernardino County resident, they do Household Hazardous waste clean up the 2nd and 4th Saturday days of the month. The gas has to be in a sealed container.
You can get some Home Depot buckets and lids and they will take them. One time, I tagged my gas cans and picked them up a bout a month later.

Thank you. We will do this. I was wondering if they would accept it in Home Depot buckets because that’s what we dumped it into it.

I just knew he wasn’t going to leave it as it sits. We will have many date nights in the garage this fall/winter. He found one thing he didn’t like about the wiring, and it has gone done hill haha. But, the bilges were wired with an extension cord so…. I get it!

Will add that to the list! We actually were going to upgrade the Howard trailer lights to LEDS and possibly do a center trip. We usually launch and retrieve at night.

Excellent, the family that boats together, stays together.....usually ;)

Cool to see you both involved in the project. LEDs definitely brighter at night thank bulbs

Shitty picture but center lights is the best thing ever. Especially for my blind ass.

You think you could talk to my wife about that whole “gettin it” thing?

Thanks 😂😂

Haha sometimes I think I am just as bad as him though. All the home renovations are usually pushed aside unless it’s a repair. The house really needs new bedroom floors so I was firm about that. Hopefully it’ll be done before the boat is done 😂

Here’s the extension cord that connects all 3 bilge pumps.

It’s ok, our two living room fans are also wired with an extension cord run through the attic. People do the weirdest bootleg shit 🤷‍♂️

While we didn't call it date night, there was a lot of fun nights just hanging out in the boat in the driveway of the house. Some more memorable than an actual river trip.

Holy guacamole. Pretty sure that's not Coast Guard approved🤣 But the orange does match the bilge pump nicely

Put the old fuel in 5 gallon buckets about 1/2 full and sit them in the sun…should take a day or 2 to evaporate all of it
