I wonder if Jeff Lemke was a adviser on the design team:p:D

Not in my price range, nor current practicality, but I like it.

I would really want to drive the previous model, and switch to this model on the same road course. I'd be curious to the similarities and differences with the weight and transfer, as well as general suspension characteristics.

Either way, lets see if Chevy can capture the high end baller market (You know, drug dealers, rappers and the like) Rather see them buy American than Italian to sit in there stables.

I'd have to get a sawzall to the console and door cards to move it from claustrophobic...

You and I agree on a lot of things - but I don't think those cars look alike. The Lemke car looks closer to me like a Nissan GTR.

However I will say the wheels came from the same after market shop. And they should of closed that shop in 1995, Chevy way missed the mark on that dated wheel design.

This is soooo fucking stupid. It’s the ugliest POS I have ever seen!

At least I might be able to afford a “real” corvette now

I think this is going to be great for GM. Looks like an awesome platform and will capture more market share in that space. Nobody that has every owned a Corvette had a bad time in the car. Cost / performance / value proposition - an unbelievable sports car. Sure are the c4s wonky - look at the rest of the period correct comps.

I purchased my first Corvette a C5 2001 when I was 23. No wife / no kids - had to sell it when I had two under two. I currently own a 67 Stingray - beautiful car. Not very practical to drive around but everyone loves to look at it. Personally the 2020 would appeal to me in lieu of other exotics because I like the performance and now the technology of the platform. With the most important piece a price point that is appealing.

At the end of the day it will also help the Italian sports car guys keep their market in check a little bit... :D

Can't find any info on any engine options other than the base 485hp. I think I like it.

How can you look at that car and think it's ugly...lol

It looks fantastic and gives you mid engine super car performance for under 70K. Honestly it bothers me that car companies keep paying tribute to older models. This is refreshing that they finally started with a fresh sheet of paper and build a ground up car. I'm a corvette fan and bought a new C5 in 2004 but this car is the evolution of the platform.

No more leaf springs :D

Long long overdue. Now all the rest of the old Vetts are going to take a big dive.
This is what I am hoping for. Sold my C6 and have always regretted it. If they d drop I'll be in the market.

Its better then I thought. But like the C7, it will have to grow on me. The C7 hasn't grown on me enough to want one. I still think the C6 was the last Vette to look like a Corvette should...…..

The C7 is popular in my town. See a couple every time I go out. Its a mix of typical 60 something Vette buyers and young guys. So the C8 should be a huge success here.

The passenger area in the C8 looks really small, and in the C7 its very small as well, Im 5'11', about 170 pounds and I dont think anyone bigger could be comfortable as a passenger. Drivers side is better but not my much, it works really well for my wife and she drives the shit out of the car, scares the hell out of me. She did the new Vette owners track school out at the track in Nevada, it terrifies me when she gets on the pipe.

I'm 6' 190 and don't fit at all comfortably as a passenger in a c7.

They are way smaller inside than the previous generations. Beautiful car but very tight.

Badass for 60k. That's amazing.

I haven’t seen pricing on this new one but I can’t imagine it will be 60k. Vetts are known to be a bargain but there is no way they are going for 60.

Is there?

Yes. :)

What are all those buttons on the right side of the center console? Couldn't see that on my phone earlier....

there shouldnt be buttons at all, just toss them all into the infotainment screen and get rid of that bar. opens up the passenger area and gives the car a MUCH higher tech feel.

I’m all for the car, debut a new model! Not redo a corvette.

Chevy is copying a Ferrari at this point, even down to the paint color

They don't have the budget or need for another car. But they did need to go mid engine to keep pushing the performance and handling envelope.

NSX,Mclarren Ferrari, etc all look somewhat similar due to packaging. This still has some corvette heritage compared to the others.

Not sure. Will need to see in person. Looks like a Camaro if looking directly at rear. They just can't get the interior right for me.

I saw a ¾ rear shot and immediately thought "Camaro". The rear quarter has the same lines.

It’s base price is 60k. But I’m sure with basic options it’s going to push mid 70’s for the average price.

Really - was that price released last night? I am having a hard time with all he development cost intuit car believing is 60k base model.

Or possibly it is a Musk pricing plan - we sell them for 30k but you can't really buy one for 30k - but if you want the 70k version we have lots of those.

I'm willing to bet none of these Vetts sell for less than 75 plus tax. But WTF do I know I don't really follow the Vett market - maybe 60 all their worth?

Edit -

I just did a quick search and found this article. WOW that s cheap !

I have never had any female companion of mine be good at driving "anything"! That must be awesome to have one that can drive a fast sportscar and own one none the less!

Im just not sure I could be passenger!

I have always driven my girlfriends around because they drive absolutely like shit! LOL..Even the ones that drove OK, Im like nahh, I drive.

I have a new Camaro on order from Jason at Selmann and he said they have roughly 50 orders in for C8's.

I had a C5, it was comfortable and plenty of room in all directions. Got into a C6, still had OK room but was noticeably tighter. Sat in my buddies C7 and said "NOPE" ! I'd need astroglide to get in and out :D and that's not even the passenger seat.

I lucked out, she can back a trailer like a rockstar and typically tells me to go faster in the boat.

Didn’t see any good pics of the engine compartment or the specs on engine options.

Also the cockpit looks very claustrophobic to me. Passenger seat looks tiny.....girl friend is completely separated from the driver in the cockpit.

Exterior pics looks great, but its overdone. Too many line changes. Less is more.

It takes some getting used to, in my wife’s c7 the passenger really has no sight of the gauge cluster, it wraps around the driver like a jet fighter cockpit. Heads up display is pretty cool as well but you can’t see that as a passenger either .

I fit at 6-3 205 but barely. With the top down I'm just below the roof line. C7-Z06 with a few mds 632 RWHP. I'm not sold until I sit in the new one and see the fit and finish, and they up the Hp to what I have currently.
