@Joker the lake was bad. When I headed back. White caps. Had the bimini up, Trimmed up and cruised the whole way back.
When we first started I thought damn this is going to be rough. After about 5 minutes it settled down and I was able to cruise 45 pretty comfortably. I was trying to save some gas I think I burned close to 160 bucksCurious how the water was on the way back to Katherines. LGETT and I left the cove by cottonwood at the same time and crossed paths at the Laughlin bridge at the same as well. I had assumed the lake woulda been quicker than launching at Cottonwood.
For us it wasn't bad at all. Some white caps, but like Vic said, we cruised between 45 and 50 and skipped across the tops. The rollers were very consistent and came straight at us, so it was an easy crossing. We used 68 gallons on the day. We thought that was pretty good for the fast pace that was set. Hope to meet some more people next year. Thanks to all for putting the run together. We hit a lot of junk at Cottonwood so I guess I'm thankful we didn't cross the basin.
Joker, you have the Mach 22 with twins? 280's I assume? You ran from Cottonwood up to the dam and back on full tanks or did you stop? How big are your tanks? DO you run pump? I very much want to do this trip next year I just want more info. I have a 21 Eliminator with 260's so I am wondering my range. We hit a lot of junk at Cottonwood so I guess I'm thankful we didn't cross the basin.
Let me check I tried to get a vid but I couldn’t tell if I hit record or not. I’ll check at home. There were 2 times you flew by for killer shotsBoat had 7/8 of a tank when we left the bouy line at Katherines and when we got back to Davis dam and hung out in the afternoon I was just touching E. Ran the boat mostly between 40-60MPH the entire day and a few jumps up to 90 or so.
Blew past Vic and some guys swimming just north of cottonwood. Anybody get a pic of that?

Exactly.... It's started off pretty bad in the basin. I found a big ass hole that caught my attention. But got it trimmed right and stayed on top running probably 50mph or so. But less than half way accross the basis is calmed down quite a bitWhen we first started I thought damn this is going to be rough. I used 54 gallons this year... Much better than the 71 gallons the first year I did it lol.For us it wasn't bad at all. Chop wasn’t too bad. Trimmed it high and let her fly!
I did lose my hat. Went back and dove in to get it just as it started to sink. The worst part was the air temp on the way back, it was hot.

You can never replace the time you had with the kids. Excellent picturesI have 70 something photos, and a bunch of videos. I’ll post them tomorrow when I’m in front of a computer.
what an epic day. Long but fun! son and daughter had a blast! Daughter slept most the way back.
son drove the whole way backdownfrom the dam to willow.
burned about 100 gallons(have a boat anchor 454)
wish we would have slowed it down a little and toke up a bunch of coves and met and talked about how epic it was running together with such a big group. Had some many jet skis and boats stopping and taken videos of all of us running up.
THANKS TO ALL PARTIES INVOLVED ON MAKING THE RUN HAPPEN!
Thanks to all the boats that made me realize mine needs some motor work or repower.
thanks to everyone who waved at my kids as they passed they play a game as claiming cool boats as they see them.
Thanks to bully for waving at my kids ( son wouldn’t stop talking about your boat)
sorry to the Nordic (posted a picture of it below). that I beached next to in the way back. Heard a someone complain that I should have went where the rocks were next to the tree( young kid was fishing were I beached) maybe I heard you guys wrong but doubt it since no one said Hi But the group next to you that wasn’t part of the run was super nice.
I was going to fuel up, but the lines were too long. Went past the Outboard Church gathering and into Cottonwood for fuel and then back 20 minutes for the church. I’m still scratching my head why i went to Cottonwood for fuel instead of just stopping in the cove with them. I evidently had enough fuel but my gauges weren’t showing it.@Joker I think the same way! I cherish every minute I have with them!
Think I saw you at the gas dock at willow. You and your wife? You were wearing a black shirt? What a cluster that was. I was on fumes and only one pump had 91( my boat can’t run on anything else) so I kind of cut everyone...
In all honesty, it seems like every year Carl gives us one really good day. Super mellow for what it’s usually like.Agreed the return was a little rough just after Cottonwood but burying the bow and letting the hull do the work got us through. After that the sets were constant enough to trim up and hammer down! It’s a thrill running up on the pad skipping across the caps.
How would you Mohave locals rate those conditions?
I looked at the glass pulling into Cottonwood and thought about him. Thank you for taking over for the mayorIn all honesty, it seems like every year Carl gives us one really good day. Super mellow for what it’s usually like.
Yea, I was the Shockwave deck. The lady in the jet boat towing a canoe with what looked like 2-400 pound people in it was pissed lol. She was yelling at us to slow down and I just waved backI followed a cobra deck, shockwave deck down from the dam and the kayakers were pissed. I went up, toke pictures fast and turned back I knew someone was gonna complain didn’t want to get caught in anything haha
Some of these are a little long but they are fun to watch. I can’t find the one I’m looking for I asked my brother, maybe his wife has it

Great Video Vic
It was blown out pretty good, we decided to fly on top and scooted back. Missed you on the bridge, should have waved the number one at me.Curious how the water was on the way back to Katherines.
