Who was in the red cat? We saw him just south of Cottonwood. Came off plane, stopped for a while near us, looked like he tried to get going again but something was wrong, and then drove slowly south off plane. We continued floating for a while then headed south also. Caught back up with him just as we found our friends we were supposed to meet up with. He was still off plane, but making his way back, so I didn’t want to stop him to see what (if anything) was wrong.

Yeah, if he was dead in the water I would’ve gone over to help him out. But, he was making his way back, looked like on only one engine. I’ve been in that boat before...so to speak.

I did thank you. Mechanical fuel pump failure

I saw a few boats pushing a stiff rope today. There was one getting towed out of Cottonwood by Tow Boat US or whatever they’re called at about 6 this evening. Was that you?

What a blast!! Didn’t make it back for the bbq after I finished waxing the boat we were all pretty wiped. I didn’t get too many pictures but I’ll post what I got in a bit. It was a little different than years prior, I’m not sure if anyone stopped. I stopped where I normally do, but everyone was already ahead. I made my stops and was never able to really catch the group to take pictures. Next year I’ll try to get out front so if people want to stop they can see me pull off. This year we brought up the rear. We stopped to check on Danny and Regor but than I started having some issues of my own. The engine compartment gets way too hot with the cats. The boat won’t always fire right away. There’s little tricks like lifting the hatch and running the blower. Boat was being stubborn and didn’t want to fire. I almost killed the battery and literally on the last crank it had it fired. I didn’t stop anymore we went straight to the docks and put it on the trailer. Battery seems fine so not harm no foul. It looked like I nailed something with my lower and skeg but no prop damage. There was a lot of boats this year and I got pinched or pinched myself a couple times and ended up in some shallow areas. Oh well it was a blast!! Now I need to decide what I’m going to do. If I keep this boat I’m pulling the cats and flashing it. If I upgrade to a 270 or razor 260 I’m going to leave it stock and sell it. Kind of bad timing with boat prices being so high. Might be better to sell high and build new, not sure yet.

I was cruising 65 and got passed by alot of boats
Well that first section was run at a pretty impressive clip. We set the cruise at 50 and lost sight of the pack in about 10 minutes. Hope Sea Tow stays in the marina. Our first Damn Dam run so finishing is the goal.

That was a great experience in every way! Been wanting to do this 120 mile round trip run to Hoover Dam and back for several years and this was finally the year! No issues and still had fuel left in the tank. Also wanted to Thank Riley and His wife for the badass T-shirts and it was nice to meet Vic and few other for the first time! Friendly crowd!!! We had to pull out of the water early around 3'ish to get back to Parker to take a friend down to Phoenix this morning to look at a Boat and then follow up by keeping a good thing going with more R&R boating on the Strip tomorrow.
If I had one personal complaint to make it would be the angry Kayakers up around Willow's....Those people are f'n Crazy!!! Lol.

Great Run this year, the turnout was impressive. Wish we could of all fit on the beach, maybe next year a cove float or find a larger beach for lunch and mingle.
@Riley thank you for meeting up at the ramp, shirts look great!

Yea was a lot more of a wfo run this year. Last year was probably closer to 40-45 from Katherine’s to Willow, then a few stops on the way up. We were doing 50-52 up to Willow and were slowly falling back, ran up to 75 for a bit to catch up then as we slowed we fell again.
made the day a little shorter and was still enjoyable, but last year with the slower pace it really seemed more relaxing.

I agree I feel like a slower pace stretches the day out a little. This year it seemed liked everyone was in a hurry to get there. I need a faster boat if I’m going to run it like that 😂

Hi guys. For an update on my side. My brother in wet money had to leave Thursday night for a medical reason (he is good now) and my buddy who was with us got lost and we we just launched when I heard the pack take off. We tried to catch everyone but were held back by one of our little boats (there were 4 of us in our group) stopped for gas at cottonwood and saw the end of the pack taking off again. Run up to the dam was absolutely awesome. Saw everyone going south and loved it. Another guy blew an engine about 5 miles south of the dam. Myself and my buddy Sam traded off pulling em back until we were just about telephone cove and ran out of gas. Tried topping off at cottonwood prior but they were closed as we could only tow about 7mph. We had to jump in the water at 230am and pull the boats around the last 400 feet into telephone cove where a buddy picked us up to get the tow rigs. But, we made it safe and sound if not more than a little tired and sore.

I thought my gps said 130 miles last year. I was probably zig zagging the way up .
I’ll be back for 2021. This is normally one of my favorite trips of the summer. Looks like a much bigger group then last year.

We went from Katherine’s to Hoover then to Davis then up to Katherine’s and my gps showed 138.2 total miles yesterday.

Good people, great food and an awesome trip up to the damn! I enjoyed meeting some of you guys in person and seeing all your boats out there. Y’all set the bar high and I’m all about that.

Unfortunately had to get on the rope a mile or so to Princess Cove. Took about 15min to troubleshoot a dead short, make the repair and throw in a new fuse.

Did the guards with M16 rifles come out from the bottom of the dam when you got close to the buoy line ?

I didn’t see any rifles but two vehicles with lights on showed up. We were floating back by the time I saw them.

How did your boat run any hiccups?

Nope none to speak of. Had an alarm for the boost valve on the port motor for about 2 minutes and then It cleared itself. Port motor heated up to 160 where starboard was 140 but that went away after 10 minutes and then they were both below 140 after that for the rest of the day. Trailer is going to Adrenaline today because the brake actuator failed and the back bottom middle light on the trailer isn’t working. Other than that, was flawless.

No but we did set off the alarm last year and the guard was yelling at us with a megaphone.

Curious how the water was on the way back to Katherines. LGETT and I left the cove by cottonwood at the same time and crossed paths at the Laughlin bridge at the same as well. I had assumed the lake woulda been quicker than launching at Cottonwood.
