Our first visit to Willow Beach was about 88 or 89. Back then a very nice family owned/run operation. Their house boats were new and well maintained, good bar and restaurant, small market and a clean inexpensive motel. Then the Feds came in and shut them down. They said they were in a flash flood zone. I truly believe it was corporate money from Forever Resorts and Seven Crown Resorts, plus a few tree huggers who did them under. Very hard to find any place on the river or lakes that is not a potential flash flood zone. Couldn't have been too bad. There's still an operation there, but now it's ran by the Park Service. Just sayin'
Flash flood went through there washed away several mobile homes they made all the mobile homes move out and shut down camping

Thanks @jeepdog for hosting the pre party... Im loving the pictures, and look forward to seeing you guys out there...

I had them.on my previous boat. Never an operational issue except that they couldn't hold more than one wrap of dockline.....my wife tends to wrap all 5 feet of the excess line on the cleats:p:D

It was as perfectas it can get. Carl smiled down on us for sure. You need to join the run next year or at least grab an extra seat—there’s plenty available (even MM found one!!)

That was some of the best water I’ve seen on the run. I was cutting in and out of the big coves it was beautiful. We took our time this year. Normally I run wide open the whole time. This year we made some extra stops and I kept it closer to 45-50 most the time. I’m telling you guys I’m fucking getting old. Changed a prop in the water for the first time. Pretty proud of myself :) my pops don’t work with his hands, so he just said fuck I hope you know what you’re doing :D

Looks like a good turn out Vic. Thanks for keeping the tradition alive. May have to revisit doing this run again next year.

Looks like an awesome time, I haven't been to Mohave in years but the best part of that lake is after the basin. Water is usually smooth as glass. I always that it was crazy how you could be up past Cottonwood in July when its 135 degrees out and you touch the water and its balls cold!

I need to get up there and show my family what its all about and check out the Hoover.

On a side note
did go thru the "safety inspection" at cotton wood
i must say it was hot out ------but they are so fucking arrogant and have no people skills and just because of the wind and peeps moving around in the bote adding a challenge to docking does not mean I'm OUI
and having the audacity to think i will just ram up to the dock in hopes you stop me FU
give me a second to get control
other than that showed all my goodies did the eye test  dropped my brother off and off we went

I would have offered a nice ice cold Gatorade or water had you shown some respect and a better attitude

thanks NVGF
ps
you rooks on the lake lice next time dont come flying up on my bote in the no wake zone like that FU too

Man there’s some really bad ass pictures in this thread. I can’t stop thinking about what a great run it was. @RiverDave any idea when Austin might have his pics done?

Hey Riley1, I’ve been working with a shop in Vegas but nothing solid yet. Give me a call at 714-317-9607 or stop by the website XtremeProducts.net and I’ll get it out to you.

The wife asked what you were shooting?
She had her SX60 (disposable in camera world) out that day she was scared to take her mirrorless (Canon M50 i believe) or the T6i, but she’s inoin the lense something about the spectrum of the photo.... (her hobby that i thought would be cheap for me but, ouch not at all lol)

Yeah, it’s an expensive hobby! I’ve learned gear works better as business write off . I’m currently using Fuji’s X-H1. 50-140mm 2.8 for the long stuff, 16-55mm 2.8 for closer. 10-24mm for really close.

Right, if only i had a business for her lol, two of her lenses cost me more than her two bodies combined. The 2.8 is that the fish on the end? She said something i didn’t understand, but about how the end of the lens she saw you shooting beveled out.

Great pics of an epic looking day. We ran up and down Mojave for years and I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen it that nice.

Lenses do end up costing more than bodies. It's always better picking a brand to marry into, investing in good lenses, then upgrading bodies later down the road. I'm not sure what ya mean by the fish on the end; maybe she was talking about the tripod foot on my tele lens?
