Interesting how the rear hatch will be side hinged, a little different. I'm curious, why a RC and not a 21 RT? Wouldn't a RT ride better and be faster? Or was the 400 to heavy for the RT?

RT's are faster, but don't turn like the RC will.

I can't so see how the hatch work will turn out! Gonna be trick when at the sandbar!

Yes true on the turning part, and being in Parker that is kind of important :D. I told Lee I wanted a 24RT with a 400. I like stuff that is new and different, the idea of the hatch is a great one. Especially if you can open each side separately. Have a buoy holder in one side, and the hardware in the other, or some nice use of the area.

They will both open separately. I also have 2 bouy brackets to be mounted under the hatch. At the sandbar, I will keep 1 open with my cooler inside and a wired remote for the stereo and the other one closed to get in and out of the boat

Also, why go 1 400R on a 24', when you can go with 2!?!?!

I agree, if you got the cg right with a tank in the front or weight simply added in the bow I'd think a 24 with twin 400's would run well.
My 2 batteries and pumps are mounted under the deck to help with weight

Love your new hot rod! Did you buy the 400R separately or thru Schiada?

I had a older 21' RC V-Drive (that I bought off Commjnity on RDP) prior that I was going to convert to hang the 400R. I even drove down to SD and took the boat to Kevin at KMG. It was going to cost a lot of money and still not be as stout as having Schiada lay up a new one. I made a deal with Boatmasters at that time. Then had Schiada lay up a new hull and sold the other 21 that Boostpower just finished up!

I sold my 20' at the beginning 2017. I've just had my mini as my river boat! She's still running tits!

Maybe with the right driver..

Today was a GOOD Day!

I've kept this boat project quiet, but she is so close to hitting the water!

Took my 2018 Schiada with a Merc 400R Outboard to Quality Performance Marine in
Corona, CA today. They are a Merc Certified Shop that completely knows what they are doing! I have never experienced a shop that was so on point with everything needed to be done!

Over the years, I have never used Quality Performance Marine. Well today, they made a customer out of me!

If anyone needs quality work done to their boat in So Cal, I fully recommend Quality Performance Marine Phone: (951) 735-5503! Thanks again guys!

Today, my new hot biatch fired up for the first time on my new Schiada!

After she was dialed in at QP, I dropped her back off at Schiada for the install of the Interior!

She should be getting wet for testing in 2-3 weeks!

Great post and I will join your comments and add the following. Quality Performance Marine is a Platinum Mercury service center specializing in outboards. I take my Doug Wright to them not because I have to but because I want to! I have tried other alleged outboard shops only to discover they were all hype and no substance.

I live in San Diego and it is a 2 hour trek along with setting up appointments for service work at QPM. The staff at QPM get it done and fix the problem and make recommendations if they see any other issues. I had a trim issue on one motor spent three days at another service center that allegedly knows outboards only to leave the establishment with the same problem. So why did I go to this other service center...simple I wanted an alternate choice for service. As it turns out I had to go to QPM who found the problem in minutes and corrected the issue. Moral of the story always take it to the shop that you trust and has a track record of getting things done.

I have an issue right now with my wife's boat Merc 150 OB and will schedule service with QPM here shortly after the Memorial weekend.

Saw your boat hanging on the wall right when you walk into the office! Looked good bud!

1. For improved visibility for the "Right of Way" starboard front quarter.
2. To offset (With driver's weight) the right hand prop torque rotation which can cause the boat to lean to port.
Smaller boats have plenty of visibility to the port side from the starboard.

And when a motor is ran in a surfacing position the blade re-entering the water tends to lift the starboard side slightly more so. And most performance Outboards are ran in a surfacing position in one way or another.

Essentially my explanation was generalization of why "Most" manufacturers decided long before you were born to run the helm on the starboard side. I do realize that certain applications might prefer the opposite, like circle racing as one example.
Also with the increased popularity of open bow seating, again the starboard helm would provide better viewing of your "Give way" quarter.

Interesting, so lifting the starboard side is wholly different than dipping the port side due to torque ? Wouldn't it still be advantages
to have more weight on the starboard side to offset or mitigate this lift ?

Thanks bud! She is set up to be the perfect Parker boat for what I do on the river.

Wait till you see the hatch setup after all the interior is complete!

Congrats, that is a bad ass ride.

Love the dolly style trailer too. Kind of a hybrid. Can you share details on it? This would be something that I could definitely use.

Looks great and super fun! Congrats.

What are you expecting to get out of it?

I just put that same fosgate head in my boat.

Such a nice boat.

The attention to detail is phenomenal. Not too many RC outboards out there either.

Nice job!
