I'm in Vic,think i'm going to be a pussy and launch at cottonwood. My new to me boat eats a lot of gas when it's hauling ass so think cottonwood would be better for me.Boating on Mohave for 18yrs. and love the fact that it's not crowded and easily find a cove to hang out in with no one else around. No it's not Havasu and that's just fine for me and the guy's that live here.Im not a fan of mohave either. Between the lines at Katherine's, the pass BS, Leo's on us like a swarm of bugs, just hasn' t been a fun trip the 4 times we've gone. It's no Havasu!
Im doing it this year for sure
Did this run a few times but it’s been years back. Even did it in the rain one year. Always been an awesome group. Glad to see it on the calendar for you guys.
I can’t even say that I am gonna try to make the run this year as I have officially committed myself to be boatless this summer.

They followed me from the guard shack to the launch ramp. Then when it became my turn they told me to pull to the side. We waited 25 minutes to get to the front of the line.
I had to show all coast guard documentation, proof I was insured, I almost felt harrassed. I am a younger guy so it seemed to me the ranger was just looking to give me shit for 30 minutes. The ranger even went on to say the letter was to small on the hailing port. So I showed him the document that says the proper size and got my tape measure out to show him it was correct.
After all of this they followed me to the parking lot and watched me park the trailer.
I don’t think I’ll be back there.
Is there a new plan? I remember you saying how great the boat was.

After my boat sold, I have been in a little holding pattern. Made a deposit on a new one but have not placed the order. The boat is built on paper, however if I push back later than June, I will end up with a ‘19 model instead of the ‘18. Not a big deal, but could cost slightly more. Just trying to be patient.

Really interested in this, I have a 250 eagle that has a 50 gallon tank. If I launch out of cottonwood will I make it without the use of oars?
You can always grab some fuel at Willow beach on the way back if you are nervous about it.Really interested in this, I have a 250 eagle that has a 50 gallon tank. If I launch out of cottonwood will I make it without the use of oars?
You will make it easily. I have 60 gallons in 496 Boat and made it from Katherine’s to Hoover and back on two full tanks (30 each). I could have gotten gas at cottonwood if I wanted to. I wouldn’t worry about it. You have willow and cottonwood for fuelReally interested in this, I have a 250 eagle that has a 50 gallon tank. Enjoy the ride, from cottonwood, you should be good. Pretty sure coolcruzin takes it all the way back to Katherine's
I’m like 90% sure if I took it easy I could make it there and back. Think I have 56 gallons. I usually run pretty hard though and always throw 40 bucks in at willow just to be safe. I don’t like to stress about things when I’m having a good time.Looks like worst case I can get gas at willow beach to be safe, or have it nice and light to tow back to havasu. Either way looking forward to it
Do ya’ll bring your little ones?

Some bring kids or pets. It depends on your crew. It's a lot of water to cover in one day. The breaks aren't very long usually.Do ya’ll bring your little ones?

Same, I wasn't sure if I would have time to gas up and keep with the pack.I’m like 90% sure if I took it easy I could make it there and back. Think I have 56 gallons. We bring our son. Last year my brother brought all 5 of his kids. All the kids had a blast. My son has fallen asleep on the rear bench through the basin on the way back the last 2 years.Do ya’ll bring your little ones?

How long is the trip up to the damn cruising at 40-50?
I have it down as around 66 miles. So with a few stops it usually takes us 2 or 2 and a half hours to get there

It’s worth it to go. For us it was an all day adventure there and back. Prolly 3 1/2 there and 3 back plus stops for lunch. We cruised at 35-40 the whole way.Thanks. Might look into making this trip. Buddy just asked about doing it and I remember seeing the trip last year. Never been to lake Mohave before.
8/11 is a SaturdaySo is it planned for August 11th?
If so my kids start 1st grade that week and my wife said she won’t pull them that Friday. Damn. Will have to look for plan B.
Tell her it's an educational field trip to Hoover dam...So is it planned for August 11th?

Make sure you don't tell her it was my idea... She still likes me as of now. [emoji41]I’ll try that when I get home. Might work with the teacher. I’m sure a report might be needed when the kids return. Then the wife will hate me even more cause she would have to write 2 reports. Lol.
You guys going?
