Were gonna try and make it.. not positive yet!!

We're staying at Katherines, got a slip and everything. This is an annual thing for us, I love the scenery, the unorganized organization, meeting new people from RDP. Just a good excuse to burn some gas! Thanks Vic once again for steppin' up.

The tow from Laughlin / Bullhead to Cottonwood is long and hot , the ride across the basin in the afternoon can get a little rough . If you pull into Cottonwood on the way back , remember they like to do OUI traps out of there . I’ve done both , and I prefer to risk the basin on the way back .

I’ll be there this year for my second year. Might be solo but I am going to make it this year. Wife gave me the ok since we have a newborn. This was the best boating day of last year for me.

If you are in the fence go! You will not regret the trip to see the Hoover damn. Imagine driving the Havasu gorge for miles. That’s what this trip has to offer. Ill be lauching from kathrines and will be there plenty early to pass the inspection they put me through last year.

I’ve posted about it in last years thread. They gave me a whole safety inspection/document inspection as I went to lunch. Probably had 20 boats behind me and for some reason they decided to stop me literally as I was backing down to launch.


I had everything they wanted but it was still a hassle and odd how and why they picked us out of everyone.

They are 1/4 mile or so down from the damn dam. One on the right heading down is scalding hot. One on the left you can shower under.

These are from the run last year. First pic shows the one on the right. You can faintly see the steam on the water. Second is the left side.
Last one is the rain cave as we call it. On the inside of the rock shoal just down from the damn dam. The sound in there is amazing.

You can get fuel at Cottonwood and Willow Beach marina , I've run it in a jet boat a bunch of times and never had an issue. I did stop at cottonwood and willow for fuel though and had 2 20 gallon tanks.
