Damn I want to do this! The logistics if getting the boat from Havasu there and back will be a challenge
Don't think the flex is up to that or I'd do it..

Awesome.yup. about half way out you get into the mix with 100s of dolphins. the trip before the last one we took was the best. it was me the wife and the kids. we got about halfway out and in the shadow of the island and it was dead calm water. wife kids saw something in the distance so we motored over to check it out. 2seconds later we were in the middle of a huge pod. I powered up and the kids went to the bow and the dolphins were under my bow riding with me at 40+ mph. I turned a big sweeping left and my wake created decent wall of water behind me and in that wall you could see the dolphins chasing me and playing in my wake. the kids were excited. it was pretty cool. I think the kids were like 8 and 10 at the time. way cool!!
His boat is in BHC if I am not mistaken ... unless he brought it home.u gotta run the Razor out there at least once in your life. I'd be running my 23 laser if it wasn't in havasu.
You get rid of the escalade already?
Does anyone remember the link for weather and ocean conditions?
As long as the weather is good I am up for it.I've been drinking. I'm getting a lil excited for this. Joe you better not renig!! gonna be a good time!!
I might be down to take the cobra just nervous about salt
So I may be backing out of this.............:rolleyes
Not sure yet......depends on whether I want to be a dick or not........:skull
So the wife got pretty irritated when I brought this up last night................the 4th is the Saturday before we move. She wasn't too pleased with the idea of me having her truck all day and being out at Catalina living it up while she packs and moves stuff over to the new house. I guess I don't blame her, but damn this is going to be fun......what to do.......what to do.
^^^
First, take your balls back out of your wife's purse...j/k!:yikes
The "solution"...have the McRibster pick up you and the boat with his truck.
"Yore" welcome!
PS, happy wife, happy life...ask me how I know...
I have an offer from another member who lives around the corner from me to tow it out there in exchange for a seat.......lol. Let me talk to the wife again tonight and see if we can compromise.so with Joe sounding like he gonna not go..... anyone got 2 seats?? if not, I'll just have to go to the river that weekend. darn!

Isn't there a ramp out there with a crane so the trailer would not need dunked?
Im more nervous about the trailer
I would have to assume that one dunk isn't going to kill a trailer. I am sure they didn't just launch for the ski race. That trailer was probably dunked a ton of times. My boat and its original owner raced the Catalina Ski Race for 3+ years. 21' LaveyCraft XCS. The salt ruined my old trailer and it was literally held together by the weight of boat. You can see the cross members rusted though in the picture. There is no way I'm putting the new trailer in salt.

In my opinion there are certain instances where you have to "stand your ground," and this one just doesn't seem to be one of those.....[emoji6]Jus cause I bought you bfast. I am laughing at the word " compromise". Let me tell you that if you don't stand your ground on this one, you can count all the next ones out.

I really want to go, don't get me wrong, but the timing sucks.
The verdict is that the wife and I have a lot of work to do with the new house. We leave for Havasu on the 15th and the escrow closes on the 13th. We need to have the new house dialed in before we leave so every day counts. Originally I thought that the new owners would agree to a IOA until June 30th, but they won't and I negotiated and IOA on the new house starting next Friday. I didn't think it through and have too much on the plate to go off and have fun on a weekend that I NEED in order to make everything go smoothly and have a happy wife going to Havasu for a week!Bump. Old school boats. What is the verdict. ?????

Moving is a TON of work even if it's only a short distance... Especially if there is any painting involved [emoji107]I always hate missing out on trips but certain things are more important and in your case Way more important. Bummer though it really does sound like a fun ride
You have no idea how much I was looking forward to this. Good group of peeps and a great way to go my first time since there will be a lot of boats leading the way that know the big blue.Priorities bud. They need to be taken care of. [emoji106]

We are not only painting an entire house but carpet, baseboards, bathroom tile, window coverings...etc. I am way stressed with the limited amount of time we have.
Hold that thought buddy, Paul came up with a great idea. Gonna talk to my wife when I get home. It's official...I'm going to be in SoCal on the 4th. Does anyone have an open seat? I have always wanted to boat to Catalina.
I might be up for that Scott. If not, would anyone be interested in taking the Flyer over for the day to meet up with the group?
If anyone has an extra seat for RT99 and myself, it would be appreciated.
