Super nice!
What rims? I'm thinking of changing mine and like those. I like the chrome lip with flat grey or polished spokes. Also, what size? The 20's I have on my Tahoe are off a 90's 7 series BMW and have adapters which push them out to the lip (which had to be rolled). I actually like my rims, I just want the chrome lip. Wonder if it'd be cost affective and/or possible to just dip the lips chrome and re-powdercoat the spokes on mine.

They're Racelines...20's on front, 22's on the back. Rolled front and back lips before we painted it...just in case. The backs have that big lip because I narrowed the rear axle 3" on each side...doesn't get you anymore room like tubbing it but gets you the big lip on the wheel. Tires are 245/40 on front & 285/35 on back...That's the biggest tire I could stuff under it without tubbing it & it's tight!

I have it all set up. Just need to get the jaws of life out to break into my wallet and depart with the cash. LOL

I'll order in from here:
http://www.slidingragtops.com/

Buddy, has a successful VW restore busn in Ventura that even has an upholsterer in his shop. He's done a bunch of rags on buses and bugs and said he can do it no prob. So I'm guessing with the rag it'll be 1,800-2k. I just really need to get off my ass and do it. I've never seen one done on a 2door (subs and 4 doors yes) so I don't know how it'll go but I'm gonna try it. It'll get done, just need to do it.

Anyone had issues putting the LED brake lamps on the 90's Tahoes? I lost a brake light the other day, then the other. Ordered two LEDS, they worked at first but have gone out again. Haven't dug into wtf is going on with it. Hoping the LEDS just weren't gonna work and I have to put regular bulbs in.

I have led turn signal bulbs in the front and they leave the turn signal indicator lights on the dash on.

Ok cool....I searched it and saw that the LEDS might play havoc on the system. Hopefully that's the problem. I'll slap in stock bulbs and hopefully that fixes the issue.

Ok actually now that I’m checking things out I think it’s the brake relay / fuse because blinkered and emergency lights work.

Anyone k is how difficult it is to throw one in? Is it in the fuse box?

I bought a 98 2 door 4x4 Tahoe LT last year for my oldest sons his first vehicle. He turns 16 next January, yes, it was a couple years early but I wanted something clean, no rust and runs well. You buy it when it you find it, not when you need it. It's a clean unmolested ride with good factory black paint and 9 out of 10 interior. The headlights and taillights are oxidized and I would like to replace them but am not liking the cheap look of the aftermarket clear / LED stuff. GM Parts Direct doesn't show these any-longer, who makes a quality aftermarket head / tail light assembly? I hope my kid either really like the thing and takes care of it for a long time or he wants to move on and I will just take it back. I really like the rig, and would daily drive it if I didn't have a company truck.

Im asking $35 K, money invested far surpasses that. Truck runs great, has lots of receipts plus time spent over a nearly 3 year time span. Drive train has approx 1500 mi on it.

Congrats Brian!! Jerry said you were complaining already that you owned too many cars. Lol.

Chet did great work bringing that thing up to snuff. I really enjoyed it while I had it. Got lots of attention.

Enjoy brotha!
Thanks! Jerry's just jealous I have a truck for every other day of the week 🙃

Got a paintless dent guy working on it now

Lots of water under the bridge since I made the post, ex wife just sold that 98 Tahoe that had the engine and transmission replaced recently for 14K. It looked good from 10' and was in really good shape for having 200K on it. 2 door Tahoe's are odd ball cool vehicles, would love to have one in the condition some have been posted in this thread! Couldn't imagine a 502 in one!

This truck really is a bitchin piece, I had 2 of them at one point. I wanted to keep this one and sell the other, but I have a story behind the other and the wife won't let the other go.

Lol, I've had to rework the entire suspension and steering set up to try and get the other truck to drive as nice as the blue one does.
