You picked that up on EBay? I was watching that one. Not the right time, but I really want to replace my 99. I'll try to find a pic to add. Loved that truck!

Lol, when I saw this thread I thought of yours!

I don't need one of these, but still love them. Still have my 92 slammed extra cab with 22's, now sitting in storage in Parker. I'm curious what did the red one go for, more or less round numbers I don't want to get personal but am curious. I've always owned red.

1994 Blazer. Owned since 1995.
I miss my 93 Yukon. I'd LOVE to get a 95 to 99 4wd with the Vortec 350. My 93 was one of the most reliable and probably one of the most versatile vehicles I've ever known.

Here's my old one, on air. I didn't want a bunch of air ride stiff inside so it was all underneath- which there isn't a lot of room down below on these. But still had 2 compressors and 10 gallons of air (2tanks).
Heading to Parker one trip pulling the boat and rolling too low on the 10, I blew a front bag and punctured a tank because of it. We ran the rest of the way there and back on the stops. The down side to air ride I guess.

Sold her a few years ago... Wish I hadn't! She now lives in Havasu.

Just not enough room or time but I wish I would have kept it and just covered it and stored it at my office.

Didn't you have the copper one? That thing was nice. Where's it go?

That's right!! Presume it'll be back seeing the way Steve kept getting it back lol. I almost bought it from Steve right before you bought it but didn't want to spend the money. Came across mine a little later and couldn't turn down the deal. Still planning on installing a full sliding rag on mine. Just waiting for the dude who's gonna install it to tell me he's ready. I just know that I will never find one that nice/original down the road....The values have also gone up a decent chunk in the last 2 years

Ordering it from http://www.slidingragtops.com/?gclid=CMLN1YiRudICFQJsfgodnpAEQg

I actually have a buddy that says he wants to do it and won't charge and the dude is like meticulous with restoration and projects (he's torn down two or 3 original wood Chris Crafts, built a frame off restored bagged 60's C10 and a bunch of other stuff. I don't doubt his skill I'm just afraid it's going to take a while and since I actually drive my hoe I can't exactly let him keep it for too long.

Another buddy restores vintage VW's out of Ventura and does killer work. He's installed a few rags on buses and bugs and has an upholstery guy in shop too. He'll kick down a smokin deal for install. Said the headliner would be the most expensive part - having his guy figure it out and install. Think I'll do it is dark grey suede.

Looks like I would do the 40x40, like to do it in power. My headliner is just starting to sag a tad one spot. I need to pull all of the interior out of it anyway, the back seat is still out with 6 10's in the extra cab but that doesn't work well for my wife and two kids. I still have the og back seat out of it. Was going to try and get this stuff done this winter but it hasn't happen yet. Like the idea of doing the rag at the same time.

HAHAHA.. true. Maybe why my project has lagged a bit myself. Did you post a pic of your truck? 6 10" JL's? I had 3 12 JLs in my crewcab and 12 12" JLs in my suburban.

I measured my roof already. Going to go as big as possible. either 42" x 65" or 40" x 55"

Just curious. I like the looks of the lowered Tahoes and Blazers. I have a 4wd Tahoe I keep in Havasu. See picture. Any thing I could do to make it nicer besides paint. ?

Bobby Belltech had a kit to lower 4x4 1/2 gm stuff. I'm sure they still do.

Thing looks nice from the pic. People actually lower the 4wd ones because the 2wds cost so much more and are more rare. But I would advise against it. I'd say a nice lift, rims and 35's or so. They look good lifted too. 0bd7f5e881f072a4ed5aee43d9bc650a.jpg 6_500_1995_chevy_tahoe_lifted_4x4_2_door_white_155k_mi_22423560.jpg 1998_chevy_2_door_tahoe_lifted_4x4_1_lgw.jpg 15238_Chevrolet_Tahoe_128545058867343750.jpg 38383050001_large.jpg cleanest_lifted_1999_chevy_2_door_tahoe_4x4_very_clean_must_see_13500_paso_robles_hide_this_post.jpg i140671660243.jpg thNIW47S4E.jpg

Some motivation. I LOVE these rides. One thing I notice though is none have sliding rags;):) 2-door-tahoe-yukon-blazer-1988-2000-cadillac-escalade-2007-2013-front-end-bolt-on-conversion-for.jpg 0905trweb_36_z+2009_spring_fling_truck_show+chevy_tahoe_2_door_new_nose.jpg 1004trweb_23+2010_dwn_tym_truck_show+white_chevy_tahoe_2_door.jpg 1102trweb_17+2011_bring_the_noize_truck_show+chevy_tahoe_2_door.jpg 1998-chevrolet-tahoe.jpg 2013-summer-madness-show-coverage-091-two-door-tahoe.jpg 2013-summer-madness-show-coverage-107-2-door-chevy-tahoe.jpg 2013-summer-slam-truck-show-32-two-door-tahoe.jpg 2013-summer-slam-truck-show-37-slammed-2-door-chevy-tahoe.jpg 0903trweb_076_z+tex_mex_2009_truck_show+chevy_tahoe_2_door_silverado_nose_lower_right.jpg 726f8840927e65dda2a96879bb7717e1.jpg 1c643b483d9adbab49413ebbdba71594.jpg 001.jpg 29.jpg 64abc2652a96ccdfae4b33b63479d77b.jpg 92cc2b83e37511662900e778ad6e4939.jpg 98_2_door_tahoe_2wd_99662975797619391.jpg 0186b7659908c34aa2e9c2aa9db81146.jpg 193a3badd70ea39463b311c1653b37c7.jpg 2014-showfest-chevrolet-tahoe-two-door.jpg

Question....

Thinking of getting a K&N cold air intake for my Tahoe. Advantages? Any increase in performance. I just like the idea of not ever having to buy a new air cleaner. But I do see theres some wires and sensors and crap plugged into the stock air intake prior to the motor. Will disconnecting these throw error codes and screw with the performance? And I presume all that needs to go back on for smog?

What is the point of having the hydraulics where the frame sits on the ground. I don't get it. To me it seems a waste of time and fucks up the ride

It's just a look, like every other custom style. raised, slammed, chromed motor, chromed undercarriage, big rims, small tires, custom paint, custom stereo - crazy useless crap. I mean, it's ALL useless LOL. Just fun.

You'll buy a complete kit that plugs in. You won't notice a seat of the pants increase, but a tad better fuel economy and never buying a air filter again.

I was reading a comparison article before about air intakes. They compared 3 or 4 of the biggest names to a stock intake on a chassis dyno in a truck. Basically the best combination came down to using the factory air box with an aftermarket ducting (like K&N) and replacing the paper filter with a higher performance drop in replacement. The full kits didn't really result in much of any increase due to the filter being exposed to so much hot air from the engine bay.
