I think the only practical way to own a used Porsche is to either live near a German car repair center, or become your own mechanic.

Owning any car requires you to become your own mechanic.

Porsches have very good quality, though. Overall, more like Lexus than like Mercedes, BMW and Audi.

How that plays out in the Cayenne that I presume is still using a VW Group platform and assembled at a VW Group assembly plant in Slovakia, I don't know.

Thought I'd drop this on ya regarding buying used expensive autos....

My buddy who bought one of these used 2 years ago called last night saying the Benz took an expensive to fix dump and its off to auction rather than spend Mucho Dinero fixing it. He's buying a used Toyota Tundra and calling it a day. In the end he enjoyed feeling sexier, impressing the fancies and joining the pack.... now he's getting into a smarter choice.

… A more realistic approach to all of this for me would be to repaint my 99 Expedition… if I don’t the roof is eventually going to rust through… I really don’t drive much anymore

…After getting sidetracked with looking at Mercedes SUVs and BMW X5’s…Plus my ongoing battle with Allstate insurance over the drunk totaling my Expedition… my Dodge Ram and my Lance camper... I am somewhat back on the hunt .… went and looked at this Cayanne today… 2012… 52,000 miles… Beautiful color…and I like the upholstery color… But pretty expensive… About $23,100 out the door But it just didn’t have a good vibe to it for some reason???…

Are you getting clean history plus service history..
porsche are high maintenance(all german stuff) any repairs items are going to cost you $$$.. things to consider..

thats said love them.. we did the suv route.. I just did brakes myself all around cause dealer was $$$..

… if it gets down to it will pick out every detail I can about the history… 52,000 mile car… Did a lot of sitting which also cannot be good… Air was not blowing as cold as it should have… Glove box door handle was broken off… Something goofy about the top of the dash clock, which seem to only be reading 60 seconds… Then Neighbor girls spotted a white one same color interior across the car lot… But it had one of those huge panoramic sunroofs that there was no real way to completely block out sunlight… I didn’t understand that
