Tyler told me to do a collaborative effort with them a year ago. (Before Teague even did it.. maybe 2 years?) Shoulda listened.

Now that it’s everyone doing it. I don’t think it fits for us, which sux because I’d like to do it.

Public says though “oh rd is copying so and so..”

Sux because they make nice products but it is what it is.. go with anyone go with everyone, you ain’t gonna go with me.

Doesn't need structural integrity if the laminations behind it are glass.

The woodgrain from the 70s and 80s was a fabric cloth printed to look like wood, backed with laminations of chop strand and cloth glass.

Boat is cool, definitely stands out Always good to see someone do something outside the box.

You have it correct.
They did a few samples with the real deal flannel but it didn’t cooperate in laying down and absorbed way too much resin.

So a company that does wood veil printed up some plaid for this unit.
The process is the same as the wood grain of the 70s and 80s as well as the exposed carbon fiber of yesterday and today.
I leave them an open window of clear gelcoat they cover with the printed cloth.
It’s backed with a similar color and laminated.
From what I understand the flannel in the interior is the real deal.

I think the fact that people are talking a lot about the polarizing paint job and design means that it's mission accomplished for Dixxon

Sort of like Will Smith slapping someone at the Oscars.

Publicity is a good thing

Personally I think the boat is super cool given the company.

There are plenty of corny old ugly overused and outdated paint jobs on the lake all the time but the cool thing is the owners of the boat are having fun.... As long as it's running : )
