Sad news to hear of Arts passing, as an owner of a 81 CVX-20 Intimidator that I have had for 18 years, it has been a great boat, and runs great for a small boat! A very innovative man that had great impact on the boating industry! He will be truly missed!
Hey Arch,
Not sure where you live I deal with Dave's gifts and tobacco in rancho cucamonga, they do have a web site, Ben Carson would suggest Padron's for those who know cigars! They have cost effective to very expensive offerings either way you will not get a bad cigar, for those who may...
Your right they do kit and plans, not sure who built it, a company called stancraft boats did a lot of work on it, they specialize in all wood boats, they have a cool website, the flat black isnt very flattering, kinda kills it!
Thanks Carlson,
I do have a few build pictures but there photo's, no digital cameras back when I did the boat! and not sure if they would scan well enough to post plus im to dumb to figure it all out to get them posted as well. If you have questions let me know, I just let the cat out of the...
Hey twocents,
Very cool info, Just curious on what you guy's did to the bottom of the boat to get it to run 70 with the stock Merc 260 package before you made the changes to slow it down? When I flipped mine upside down to work on the bottom it had a hell of a hook in it, it was anywhere from...
Hey no worries! Thanks for the thumbs up!
I just wanted to make it clear that it was an original Intmidator and not a CVX as there is quite a few differences. I did do alot of glass work to it and still itch to this day from it. As my first boat project it was alot of work but worth it. The...
Thanks!
The stringers and floor were in great shape when I got it and felt nothing else was needed the stringers and floor are all tied in together plus I left the rear bulk head behind the rear seat in place for strength as well, It's almost on the verge of needing trim tabs, as it is now at...
As i said it is an intimidater not a CVX-20, I have the original bolt on exhaust tips to prove it, I modified the original openings to the raised areas on the transom where the original tips bolted as you can see, which is an Intimidator only feature I believe to run larger stainless exhausts...
I built the boat back in the mid 90's, I found it at Catherines Landing at Lake Mojave sitting in the mud in outside storage for $800 through a friend of mine. The lower unit was blown out and the exhaust manifolds were cracked. Got it home and fixed what was needed to get it running a used it...
