10Apr15 The IWWF announces with pleasure the 2017 World Waterski Racing Championships.
This action-packed event will take place in Seattle, Washington (USA) from July 21 - 30, 2017.
Before holeshots we used large, round, plastic laundry baskets. One's big enough to take large coils of line. They obviously have their limitations (especially when they fly out of the boat) but if you 'train' the line well they are at least much quicker to load.
We have a English company who...
Hi Steve
I also consider Eguzon too small to host the Worlds but the organisers are very keen and do seem to be able to generate sponsorship money.
The lake at Arcos was originally due to be the back-up venue for the 2010 European Championship should it be too rough to race at the original...
The rumours about the next Worlds in America date back at least to Belgium in 2009 but Spain (Arcos de la Frontera) and France (Eguzon) have supposedly shown an interest. Favourite has up til now has been Long Beach on the same courses as 2003 but because of the need to dredge the harbour that...
My daughter, now just 12, has used a Gath for the past two seasons. What she likes about it is it's so light, lighter than anything else she tried. We bought direct from Gath in Australia and helpfully they fitted extra padding to make the helmet smaller to her measurements.
I guess at over 100mph with limited horsepower the aerodynamics play an important part. Some of the earlier pictures from Coniston show it without the wing/spoiler. The other English boat will not have it fitted.
New hull, built specifically to take the long shaft 3 litre motors. The old F2 was built for a 15" shaft, the weight and height of the 300XS upset it's centre of gravity. There was a yellow one with a 250 Etec in the Worlds but the race venues chosen meant you couldn't really see how quick it was.
Old style 2.5 260 cowling but exactly what was underneath I'm not so sure. I know the hull was not particularly light weight as it will be raced next season. At least one other new Bernico has been ordered for England, that one is to be powered by a 300XS.

The F3 boats constantly run buoy to buoy to buoy through any and all the rubbish water. The tiny speed differences between the boats means you are also doing that gunnel to gunnel and possibly for the whole race. In an F2 boat you may have the speed to bide your time and wait for the right...
Short ski poles are run on F3 boats because they improve the hole shot (pull out) times and make the boat ride and handle much better. The long length of a standard, centrally mounted pole can give an aggressive and/or heavier skier too much leverage on a lighter, lower powered boat. Having...
