Talk from down under says we may be hosting the Worlds in 2013 (Mead). Any talking birdies out there? Hmmm

Careful, or I may put in for San Francisco, right next to Giant's stadium. Plenty of parking, cranes to put in boats, and some interesting water conditions....atleast I was scouting. :p

Just kidding - this is a much higher level of race organizing than I have been involved with. Much to learn, much higher level of politics and ensureing that all the international rules are held, and likely out of my league for now. Sure Dusty will know though, and has plans.

You guys should drop on into the NWSRA meetings - they are open, and you learn a bunch of cool stuff on our sport.

The rumours about the next Worlds in America date back at least to Belgium in 2009 but Spain (Arcos de la Frontera) and France (Eguzon) have supposedly shown an interest. Favourite has up til now has been Long Beach on the same courses as 2003 but because of the need to dredge the harbour that has changed to two races at Parker and two at Havasu.

gar163y, I have been to Eguzon, France for your European race with a few of my buddy's on the European racing scene and I can assure you that Eguzon is not a big enough circuit for a world championship event. Also for having a world championship event in Acros de la Frontera, (from what i have heard) is a fairly good venue but yet again the lake is still very small, it will be mainly flat water dominated world championships.

I have a feeling we could be seeing the 2013 World Championships in Lake Havasu. Who Knows . . . .

Hi Steve
I also consider Eguzon too small to host the Worlds but the organisers are very keen and do seem to be able to generate sponsorship money.
The lake at Arcos was originally due to be the back-up venue for the 2010 European Championship should it be too rough to race at the original venue in Cadiz. They stepped up at the last minute and did a very good job.

My daughter won the EuroKids class in Spain so we will be working very hard to get in the junior team for the 2013 Worlds and we would love to come to Havasu.
