My business partner is headed to Japan in January too. Looking forward to hearing how it is. Apparently there are a lot of ski areas in Japan, not just up north.
I went to school in Glenwood Springs. We skied lots at Ski Sunlight in the early 1980's. My wife and I went by there last month when we were looking at property in the area. Sunlight still looks exactly the same as 40 years ago.
Have planned Durango in February. Maybe Mammouth later in the season, then back to A-Basin for a couple of days.
I learned to ski at Sandia ski area in NM when I was about 8 or 9. Over 50 years of skiing now.
It's a constant battle. Everytime something isn't working, its 'broken'. Uh, mom, you switched your ringer off. 'it's the switch on the side of your phone mom.'
Another problem is mom and dad (mid to late 80's) have a shared email address and iCloud account. That makes it really difficult...
My dad worked for North American Aviation / Rockwell Intl. in Downey for a long time. He does have moderate dementia. He was an engineer, not in production but I'm guessing they used some nasty chemicals in the 50's, 60's, 70's there.
We have had Flushmates in our house for 33 years since it was new. There were a couple of recalls on them so we have gotten free replacements over the years. Sometimes you have to replace the flush cartridge but it's an easy fix. They are loud though.
Still a ton of those older Mercedes diesels running around the world. One of my son's can do a great impersonation of a 300D sound. Those things will still be running in 150 years.
We went to a wedding in Kansas over the summer. It was an afternoon wedding and we were able to make it to the demolition derby nearby later that evening.
It was hard to find. I picked it up at the gun and fishing store in Havasu new. It came with 4 or 5 magazines, a holster and a nice bag. I got the one with the red dot, but I need to adjust it a bit, but I like it better than the P365 so far, but honestly I haven't shot much with both...
My wife has one. I have a hard time with accuracy with it though.
I picked up a Kimber Mako a few months back. I've only shot it once, but I like it a lot better, but I still need to work on it.
The brakes are already done. Not sure what went on it, but we did just go with drums again in the rear and like original discs in front. Trying to keep it as original as possible.
A/C will add about 6K to it, so I decided not to do that for now. My dad drove it daily from Irvine to Downey or...
I took my dad to see the Firebird progress on Saturday. It's coming along well. The detail guy was working on the paint, especially the areas where the emblems will go. I'm going to put a set of BFG TA radials on it instead of the original red stripe tires. Also a Flowmaster 50 series exhaust...
That looks like a great visit! Will definitely add this to an agenda sometime. Last time in London, we went to the Churchill War Rooms and I was astonished what they had to endure during the war.
Our last lab TI, we had to install a wheelchair ramp, the bumpy things and make the handicap parking space van accessible. I got the landlord to pay for that though.
