That's looking real good. Take a lot of pictures and post a lot. It really helps when asking for advice and it also is a great way of recording everything.
Mine is through bolted in the front to the little bulkhead of the engine box, meaning the fiberglassed wood structure that is glassed to the hull and the motor sits on.
I think the original hatch bottoms just layed in place, the hatch top is hinged to the back and when closed it kind of locks...
Is the engine in the boat?
I built the bottom box first, then made patterns of cardboard of how the top part will fit. Then just trace the patterns to the plywood.
I have a lot of pics on my build thread.
By looking at other boats boxes, you could get it very close to factory...
I started mocking up a wooden type of a pistol grip kind of style deal as a test piece, but now I'm thinking of painting this thing and maybe just running it. The pistol grip shifters are just too big for what I'm looking for but I can't think of anything else that might look cool and still...
No.
If I was to cruise through the channels that are more surrounded by Canadian territory I’m sure they would stop me. But I’ve never even seen an OPP boat checking anyone parked where we go. That island is uninhabited.
Thanks. Boats are both running great and getting a decent amount of use this season.
The location in these pics is actually Canada. It's called the freighter channel and is the St Clair River that connects Lake Huron to
Lake St Clair. We are anchored on Seaway Island across from Basset...
I just picked up a Place Diverter and want to mount the switch on the original Morse throttle.
I do not want the big bulky clamp on rubber deal but would do something like Gaffrig had out then discontinued. The Gaffrig style looks to only fit a flat style arm and probably would need some...
Some pics might help in figuring out a solution.
The vent is to let air into the tank as your fuel pump takes the fuel out, preventing a suction type of lock up and acting as if you are out of gas. My saddle tanks have no vents and I had to drill small holes in my caps to create a vent. I'm...
I would bet it's not a Spectra. I have seen many boats for sale being called a Spectra that are not for different reasons. I'd like to see the front and bottom v of the front.
I'm curious about the spun rod bearing incident. Were you able to diagnose it as a #3 cylinder rod bearing problem before you pulled the engine? At idle, did it make any unusual noise?
I know it happened a long time ago, but I am experiencing an engine noise that came up right after a WOT pull...
