For 30 years that is what I’ve always done. Thought I would try something a little different this time.
Since it’s a wrap, if it grows old on me, I can always remove it.
It’s a great boat and our 2nd Fountain over the years. It’s a bit older (2007) since we really couldn’t justify or even afford something newer. While it is also quite a bit of work in terms of clean up, launching, towing long distances, etc. (at least for me in my mid 60s) it’s definitely worth...
I thought long and hard about this. The Denali regular bed (which I bought and has a 6’9” bed) has almost 100% more HP and torque (just shy of 500 HP and 1,000 lbs of torque) than the old Dually and is rated for 18,500 lbs bumper towing. Coupled with the two optional tow packages, it just seemed...
Soo… We towed the new to us boat (a Fountain (that weighs 13,000 lbs wet with the trailer) from Arizona’s to Cali to have some work done on it a couple of weeks ago. Our V10 gas Dually struggled a bit on some of the steapper grades getting it here. As a result, we ended up purchasing another...
Very nice. I had a 69 Super Bee (with a wedge and 4 speed) in High School. Sold it for $1,200 to my uncle in 77. Could have, would have, should have… done something other than sell.
Well, I took the plunge today. While I really like my old Ford 1 ton crew 4x dually, driving the new to us (13,000 lb wet) boat/trailer back to Cali a couple of weeks ago made it clear that I’m pushing it a bit too hard.
I looked at the Fords (and there were some reasonable discounts), however...
I bailed on my $100 deposit that I placed 4 years ago or so. My number came up last month and my thoughts were:
1. It doesn’t live up to the originally advertised specs.
2. There is no way to flip it for a profit. I’ve already seen a used Foundation model selling for less than new.
Can you tell me if any of the claims being made by the family (in the OP’s original post) false? It really comes off as them getting completely screwed however, I guess there are always (at least) 2 sides to a story.
We changed out the under cabinet florescent bulbs with LED bulbs of the same size. Uses the same fixture and ballast. Made a massive difference and it was cheap. Did this 2 years ago and they are still working perfect.
It was something like this...
2nd annual ride day after Thanksgiving. Back hills of Bullhead. Our oldest Daughter and I are the only ones on dirt bikes. Wife, youngest, her Finance and friends all in side by sides. A bit sore this evening even though the ride was shorten because my Daughter hurt her back picking the bike up...
Damm, I guess I’m just lazy. Whole family is here and I’m picking up a pre-made full spread Thanksgiving dinner from Shugrues later today. Ordered it many weeks ago..
We drive through the foothills for the hell of it every now and then just to take a look. There are truly some bitchen homes and occasional killer toys when a garage is left open or someone is prepping out front.
That said, if you’re towing say a 13,000 lb boat/trailer rig (that is 70 feet...
Have to say, although it’s costing me a few bucks, my recently acquired gen 2 2012 CTS-V coupe is turning out nice with the new wheels, exhaust, tinting, CAI, etc.
Although it only has 39,000 miles on it, it had been sitting for 3 or so years unused. As a result, in addition to the fuel system...
Mohave Grage Door just finished “tuning up” both of our insulated doors and I gotta say, they did what I consider a great job. I sat there and watched. They adjusted the spring tensions (after checking how the doors balanced when unattached to the drive), lubed the springs, drives and rollers...
