What are you guys using for LED light strips? Looking to replace fluorescents in our son’s kitchen. Need about 24’. Looking for decent quality that would hopefully last more than a year. LOL. The stuff on amazon looks really cheap. As well as the remotes to change colors typically do not last. Thanks

Are you looking at tape light?

I use CORE lighting on everything. Gotta get it through a supply house usually.

Amazon stuff can be hit or miss. Just stick with something that has 100s of reviews and try to go with a higher wattage per foot.

As far as drivers I like using magnetic drivers. They seem to cooperate the best with higher end dimmers (Lutron Maestro, Diva etc).

They also make dimmers with built in 120/12v or 120/24v transformers. You can find this on Amazon. Switchex I believe is the brand.

We have made import and sell the strips the weather resistant, but they’re really made for outdoors more than indoors. They like the strips from Amazon above, but about 1000 times better quality and bright. You’re not dirt cheap but they last a long time they have good controllers. If you look at it make sure you get red green and blue and always get the higher voltage 24 V. They will almost always be a brighter light.

You can get led replacements for the fluorescent bulbs if the disco lighting effect isn't a necessity.

No link so no one steals all of our ideas. We don’t post anything online. With the innovator not the imitator you guys know how businesses rip off your ideas all the time.

So the basics are we make them in length of 16 feet 20‘ 24‘ 30 feet and 40 feet. My controllers can’t handle a total of 167 feet of lights and the red green blue white. We have extension cords that would go from the controller which needs to be close to the power supply no permit needed so you’ll need the power supply the controller which comes with a handheld radio frequency, remote, and then whatever strip she want beyond that.

Power supplies have two outputs you can run two controllers off of one power supply power supplies are up to 500 W. We should do 360 feet.

I do a few controllers that operate at the same frequency you could do multiple systems and have one handheld remote that will control them all or a different controllers. They’ll have different frequencies for the remote seek of a split system, but utilize just one power supply.
Use self sticking 3M double-sided tape.

This is not our primary business. I got into this as many people asked as an add on to aluminum patio covers, but we make an aluminum extrusion and various colors that is 2 inches wide by 1 inch tall that takes one 11/8 inch lens.

you don’t see any of the dots in the LED it puts on a significant amount of light as you can see from here and dimmable. On the outside, you really don’t have to put this on one of our patio structures. You could mount it to the bottom of a facia board or inside of a facia board again it’s 2 inches wide.

A 200 watt power supply is $87, 24 volt

The 40’ strips, and as far as I know no one in the country makes that long that will still be bright at the end $.185 each.

. these are weather resistant with 3M double-sided backing tape high concentration of LEDs one against each other extremely bright. Not cheap shit for the LEDs are 3/4 of an inch apart and are not bright and you see a bunch of dots.
How long as you can go in one strip continuous is 40 feet so if you wanna go in and 40 feet you have to buy a 40 foot extension cord which I have or if you Y cord split them it doesn’t matter then

Y cord $7

Controller $43 with remote The controller with the remote will control brightness and a light to go from red green blue or white up to 40 feet away

U may need a short extension cord too.

Deduct 5% from total.

And needs to go inside of a box you can buy them cheap on Amazon or somewhere else for probably $25 apiece and then run the extension cords from the controller all of it inside of the box with the vacuum plate up to the lights need to be

I have extension cords from 16 to 33 feet. They’re not terribly expensive. They’re all five pin with a rubber O-ring to prevent water entry.

I do agree multicolors are great for outside, especially at night when you go to Blue and turn it down to but half the temperature. It looks really good but in the kitchen keep it white.

We changed out the under cabinet florescent bulbs with LED bulbs of the same size. Uses the same fixture and ballast. Made a massive difference and it was cheap. Did this 2 years ago and they are still working perfect.

It was something like this:
