50 years ago, LHC had 9000 residents, a diversified economy (tourism and manufacturing), an airport with scheduled air service and great schools. Not sure its maturation is much different than other small towns in the US.

It was called "The Sod Farm" but I don't remember it being more than an irrigated grass field. Not sure what the sod was used for. The first LHHS football games were played there.
AR-649. Refueled there quite a few times. Sad to see the KC-10 retired. Definitely the "Gucci Tanker". Pulling up behind it at night was awesome. Illuminated like some cosmic spaceship.
