TeamHawaiin.....I don't have a team and last I checked in the mirror, I'm not Hawaiian. I just got it off the seat covers when I bought the boat. I took an "a" out to save myself from lawyers on copy writes. :champagne:
This is awesome news. I would defianately like to run a straight shot. Thanks for the input. I think mine is about a 2' radius. The forward reverse cabel has the same loop but I can wait on that one. I am mainly trying to get steering that won't require POPEYE arms to turn it. I know that...
Is it necessary to have a loop on the steering cable at the back of the boat right before it passes through the transom? I presently have a 16' cable on my 17' jet. I just left West Marine to price a cable and 119 is not bad for a 16' telefex rack and pinion cable. They want 172 for the 12'...
Thanks again for the additional responses. It seems though now I'm not going to build a new BBC. I'm just going to do a vortec head swap on the sbc in it now and run it for what its worth. I will eventually get it built, and I will definately keep this in mind when I build it for marine...
At least that was the last weather report. The Strand is in great shape. I went to the Lone Star biker rally on Oct 31 and everything was in perfect shape. They are doing alot of sand work on the seawall area, but further towards the west end of the island looks pretty good. West is where you...
I bought one of those $70 helmet cams from EBAY, can't remember the name off hand. I don't jump bikes in the woods but I get some decent air on a 96 GSX Seadoo. Since the ski looks like it fell out of the back of a truck from Hurricane IKE damage, I've been going way bigger on the jumps not...
WOW !!! It's really taking down some CPU's?? Holy crap! I wouldn't do that to my worst enemy....well maybe just once. :D Anyway, I've never had any problems with the link but I apologize to those who had thier cpu crash. Hey, could it be that there is a bunch of Coors Light drinkers in here ??
Thanks for the info guys. I'm begining to wonder if Marine engines have a shorter life than automotive due to the larger piston and ring end gap clearance. Any input on that? I can imagine the emissions would be higher so you couldn't get away with this on a street vehicle.
What about the...
I was wondering.............why does a marine engine require more piston clearance than a street motor? I have 330 hp GM marine max motor that I would like to pull out and put in a mud truck. Straight swap out, leave in the cam, distributor, carb. I would like to give this jetboat a 400 sbc, and...
This is some good info. I have wondered if removing the droop snoot from my pump to change the thrust centerline.....if that will help in calming down the porpoising effect on my 17' Hawaiian. I know short jets will porpoise and I have trim tams to counteract but I still have to power through it...
