I wanted to say thanks. Ive decided to move on. It is an interesting boat, but reliability is key and I dont want to be wrenching a bunch to keep it on the water.
I didnt feel like we were in any back and forth. You gave your impression and I pointed out what the ad says and a possible reason why. It was nothing more than that.
Im not sure of any of this, but I think its a one off. I can not find any mention of a Carrera Syndicate except for ads for this boat. However if look at the back of a 27 cyclone the (Im not sure what they are called) trim tab equivalent chrome things look the same.
So Im on the hunt for a boat. I came across a Carrera Syndicate with a v-drive and was hoping to get some input. The ad is here

Its been for sale for more than a year, maybe 2. I know Carrera boats are pretty...
So the all white boat has a price drop to $26k. There is a crack in the transom of unknown origin. He also says the title says 25'. Nada doesnt list a 25 scandia for 1990 but that seems most likely
I would also be interested in comments on the price for each. I passed on a heat in north cali with a 525sc for 38k now Im thinking I shoulda pushed for it. Seems like prices are generally coming down, except for the late people trying to cash in.
So im in the hunt for a boat. I am a fan of Nordics and recently came across a couple in the midwest (where I live). However I am questioning the models on both. This first one says its a 1990 Rage, but im pretty sure its a 23 Venture...
The boat is at the lake of the ozarks. Really the fibreglass/hull/stringers and transom are my biggest concern. I would also like to get a compression test as well. Maybe I should just look for a fiberglass guy up there and then just get the compression/leakdown done separately
The guy whos father was a marine surveyor also is certified by the Association of Certified Marine Surveyors
the other guy in the same town is parts of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors.
I have not looked either up yet
Im looking at buying a 96 Nordic Heat. It has some gelcoat damage on the bottom. It looks repairable to me, but Im far from any kind of expert.
The rest of the boat is in really good condition. Low hours, blue motor, and really good interior and exterior (other than damage) and he has it priced...
thanks for the input, sounds like
I'll pass. It is a really sharp boat though, maybe someone else in the midwest can pick it up
