Puerto Morelos for me. Great diving, was a great little fishing village when we first started vacationing down there each year.

I started going to Cabo fishing in the 80's. Dirt road from the airport. We'd get a bucket full of Coronas and ice for the drive to Cabo and it was a buck a beer.
There were three hotels. Finisterra, Palmilla and the Hacienda. The marina was not there yet. No traffic lights. Food was cheap and never any crowds. The main attraction was the Giggling Marlin. Wonderful spot!!

I found the original Sol Mar in 1987 just around the point.... that was my only place to stay until they Americanized it.

I actually sat having a drink in old Sol Mar lobby around 80s and an old man said he was the owner of the lands there and he planned to build out the entire strip.... guess he wasn't shitting me .. shame what became of that .... I miss the Whale Room

Blanco is nice, stay there most the time....but this last trip we ended up going a few days early and got a room at place in the marina called Tesoro...that place was very quiet....at Blanco we have to get to the pool early for a decent spot...at Tesoro we got there at any time and got a nice spot, and the service was spot on....
I think one of the VERY few times that I have ever been shitfaced in public (or so I'm told) was at the pool on top of Tesoro. I do remember the staff finally giving up trying to keep bikini tops on though! Loved the vibe at that place.

We went to the Cystic Fibrosis event here in HB last month and they auctioned off a trip to Cabo 8 nights with flights for 2 people for 3K. My wife was more than upset we didn't bid on it.
Looks like you all are having a great time.

We love the office
We do too. Always some sort of Tom Foolery going on there. Always a bunch of laughs.
Our trip in June, it wasn't that great.... Cool to be on the beach and all, but honestly for the price it 's not worth, but do have good drinks.
The snapper dish was $80-90 dollars, that's crazy..

It’s definitely a tourist trap. I take all the newbies there. It’s all smiles and you’re not wrong.

But, I can find a way to have fun at a dive bar in Compton so maybe I’m built a little different lol

Damn you went to that? That is the one they did at Newport Dunes since it started, we had spots and everything for this year and they switched to Huntington Beach so we didn't go.

I was dating an AA flight attendant just out of their Dallas 8 week training and we were in Cancun 1987 and I was whining about all the American clowns and HomeDepot Costco crap... she said we should go to Cabo where the Americans haven't taken over ... I said wheres that... that changed my existence

WOW!!! Brings back memories.
So glad you also got to experience that era.... man that was something.... we used to always get those suites way on down as far as available. I saw true rock stars down at that end in late 80s. Epic cocaine and room service wars .... going past my door anyways.... I wasn't in their league
