I’ve been retired since 2016, I have a difficult time filling my day. I’m a volunteer bar manager for a private club, I spent a few hours a day at it. It’s just not enough to occupy me all day. Maybe I’ll start a new hobby. What do you do All day besides scratching your balls?

Been retired about a month, I have a garage full of parts, and spend most of the day fabbing up a new crappy old Toyota that I'll have more time and money in than it's worth, I'm hunting a Super C and plan on doing some traveling, I have a hit list of crap I want to see.

Over all I'm having fun.

Also been off a year on shoulder surgery.

Retired in 2016. 100%. Haven’t worked a minute since. Said I would spend every minute of every day with the wife to make up for all the years working. Pretty much do that and it works for us. We have a ton of fun. Just home from 13 state, 5100 mile RV trip. We live a good life

Walk dog every morning. Tuesday is grocery day and lunch ch with my mom. Tuesday and Thursday afternoon is bullshit day at my buddies shop with dudes from high school days. Typically o ly bored when it rai ns. I wanted a part time job at a mom and pop type hardware store like I did in high-school, but the local ones shut down. Thankfully , I don't really need the coin. Oh yeah, camping and drinking right now!

Retired February 2024. Doing stuff that I couldn’t really do when I was in the rat race. Hitting the gym or going on walks with the wife a few times a week, read a book for the first time in a long time, lots of gardening at my house and at the mother in laws, did 2 road trips so far, spending lots of time with the wife and family, golfing at least once a week, doing small honey do’s around the house. Waiting for summer to end so I can really tackle the garage. I’ve been just as busy as a retiree as I was when I was a working stiff.

Been retired for six years. Never have time to be bored. Monday through Friday 6:00 am to about 9:30 am waterski and foil board. I do all our home, vehicle, boat, jet ski, etc. maintenance. Have a pretty nice shop building near the house, and spend a few hours working on toys, or building projects every day. Spend time helping my wife as she sells real estate. Lucky to have a small beach house in So.Cal. spend some time there paddle boarding, and bicycling, and escaping the heat in Parker. Spent many years boat racing, so I work about ten hours a week helping at Lifeline Marine Safety Equipment. Wasn't looking for a job, but it found me as I have known the owners for fifty years, and it is hard to find employees these days. I make time to read books which I never had time before. Soon as I get caught up..... I want to find a good 911 Porsche to restore. Was in the collision repair business all my life and would like to do one or two Porsches for myself.

Retired for 5 years and almost never get bored. Just did 3.5 week 3350 mile RV trip and have 2 car projects to keep me busy. Then there is the mid day nap in there.

I retired in 2018 and within 2 months I was going stir crazy. I missed talking shit with the guys from work so I went back part time. Working 2-3 days a week is fun and make my own schedule so it doesn’t get in the way of traveling or anything else I want to do. The extra $3000-$4000 a month is nice too. One day I’m going to motherfuck the wrong person and be asked to leave, but until then its good.

Semi retired I still got to work same trade different company.now I choose when I want to work. I can’t sit home all day I’ll get bored.

But I do have to go to ca to work but I get to stay at my moms and see her. She’s also has early signs of dementia so it’s good to spend time with her as well.

Normally it’s work every other week.

Wife and I retired, she at 55 and me at me at 59, we are now 65, the time flies so fast, have not been that bored where we want to get on any fwy and commute to job sites again. Boat, banshee, yard, vehicles and honey do projects keeps us busy.

I’m aiming for 65, when Medicare kicks in. Less then two years away.

I’m not sure what I’ll do with all my free time. I’m 20 minutes to the lake in no traffic, 10 minutes to my hangar, and less than 2hours to tha cabin in Flagstaff.

I’ll probably Fly around North America for a few years, while my medical is intact. I’d like to fly to Alaska and down into parts of Mexico and then in the Caribbean. Then sell the airplane, and buy a (self driving) 2030 Electric Corvette.

This is just crazy to me. Bored?? I'm busier retired than I ever was working!

Wake up, rub one out, shit shower and shave and then...

Stretch, push up, sit ups, weights. Try and get in 3 to 5 miles walking the dog. Now I'm ready for the day!

I love to cook. The kitchen is my new domain. So I'll plan meals, go shopping, and put everything away. By now it's noon or so.

I usually fast for 18 hours now, so I'm ready for a big fat lunch. Cook, eat, watch my cooking shows, and clean up the mess I made.

Lately...

I'll head over to A-1 Canvas and spend a few hours working on my boat. If not that, there is Always something to do on the house. Or the cars. Or my quads. Or my Harley. That list Never ends.

In the evening, light dinner and plan my travels.

This year I've spent 3 weeks in the Sierra's. A couple weeks at Avilla Beach. A week in Tahoe. A week in the White Mountains of AZ. And I'm heading to Yosemite in a couple more weeks. I usually spend the month of October in Parker, but that may not happen this year.

I build websites on the side, and always have something going on with my sites and my server. I decided to run my own cloud server a few years ago, and that has been a major league learning curve for me. Luckily ChatGPT is my new best friend. Learning that has kept me busy as well.

My to-do list is probably a couple miles long. Complete garage remodel, call so and so, re-do some sprinklers, fix a Boy Scout memorial some vandals fucked up, blah blah blah.

I need to reload some shells and go bust up some clay birds, before I get too out of practice.

Thinking about buying a new hand gun, and taking some real lessons. One of my good buddies just retired, shoots a couple days a week, and then shoots tournaments on weekends. If I had the time, I'd be doing that with my shotgun, but I can't find the time to practice!

It's another thing that's on my to-do list.

Been retired for 8 years... NEVER. BORED. Grandkids, vehicle, toy maintenance, cruise ships, Havasu house trips, road trips, visiting friends, friends visiting with us, NO idea on how I would find time to work if I wanted to. LOVE IT...especially at the first of the month.

Wife and I retired 3 years ago. Bought a new 32' travel trailer and planned on doing some traveling. Then along came cancer and dashed that dream. Sold the trailer and bought a double wide in a 55+ park near MD Anderson cancer center. After 2 1/2 years of chemo, she said enough is enough and wanted to go home to Colorado. Sold the house, bought a motorhome thinking we could do some traveling when she felt like it. Made one trip to Kentucky to see her son before coming home. She passed away shortly after that. Now 3 months later, starting to get out a little, installed lift kit and tires and wheels, new winch bumper and winch on Gladiator. Which is kind of funny because directions on lift said aprox 6 hours. Sure if you aren't 72, have some arthritis in your hands and doing it on concrete. Took 4 days. So now I have a new T shirt that says "Retirement Plan? Yes I do, I plan on offroading." Life changing sure, but have to do something and stay somewhat busy. A little golf, a little fly fishing, moho travels and jeeping all with Charley the jeep dog. Do a lot of reading on Ipad with Prime because free books. Getting ready for trip across Texas and then Arkansas for fishing and then to Arizona for the winter. Rinse and repeat. Life is too short to work until you die.

Retired in 2005 still loving it. When first retired would watch the grandkids minimum 2 days a week. Gym other 3 days a week. Lived on a lake, Pontoon, SeaDoo's family and g-kids out almost every week end. Had numerous friends in and around the lake. Would still socialize with former co-workers. Joined a conversation club, made few more friends.

Grandkids got older off to college didn't see them as often sold house on lake moved to Florida, son lives close see him and wife 2-4 days a week. Made more friends even though we were older liking to bbq and shooting we were readily accepted.
Grandson is now at a Florida college, so that's cool.

Occasionally I find myself being a little bored but oh well, still at gym 3 days a week.

For me, it's all about who I hang out with and who my friends are. Many of my close friends are retired firemen. These guys are constantly planning Ski and Motorcycle trips, it never stops. I'm still working, I have a good paying part time job but they continue to invite me on all their awesome motorcycle adventures all over the place. And we're all just waiting for winter to kick in so we can go travel and ski. For them, working got in the way of their lifestyle. I've kinda molded myself into that lifestyle. I'm definitely not the kind of guy to relax everyday, I have to have something to do or something to look forward to, always.

Retired in February. Been busting my ass ever since. Prepping and selling 2 houses in Livermore Organizing packing and boat shipping for the move to SC. My new hobby is assessing the damage the moving company did by stacking the heavy shit on top on top of the fragile stuff. Next on the list is house hunting for the final place. I sure hope at some point I can settle into some boating and regular archery practice. Also need to get my gym routine back.

The nice thing is that your doing it because you want to not because you have to and if you come across one of those days that you get up and say screw it I'm taking it easy today and catching up on the Leave it to beaver reruns, well that's OK too.

My buddy has been retired for a few years I call him Mr. Saturday. We talk to each other a few times a week and by 11:00 am he's done with his honey do's and thinking about an afternoon cocktail. Like others have posted he has things he does each day to keep in a routine and loves every minute, I have about 4 more years then I get my own hat that says Mr. Saturday

I retired at 65, 2-1/2 years ago, my wife a year later after she realized I was having the time of my life and once she was retired, our world would be wide open for any adventure we decided to take on, even stuff we talked about 40 years ago. We’re fortunate to be good financially to do whatever.
I like to get up around 6, do coffee and be ready to enjoy the new day early. I built a small workshop to handle small projects around the house that I don’t mind doing. I have an early Bronco that I still race in Baja that is always ready to be tinkered on or taken out testing.
I spend a lot of time in Baja, at our place at the lake where we have a great group of friends, and traveling in our motor home with my street Bronco in tow. We plan some trips around Bronco events, mostly in the western US, which give us a plan for our adventure route. I sometimes lead some runs and we always meet new people with similar interests.
We have been going to at least 1 or 2 new more distant destinations each year that we have always wanted to visit, either driving or flying. After following RD’s LOTO trip, I might hit that next year.
When I hit 60 several years ago, I felt like the wicked witch flipped over the hourglass. You wonder how many good years you have left that you can still do this. 20? 15? 10? Who knows. Gotta do shit while you can. You never know which year will be your last.

Well I get up scratch my balls , drink a cup of coffee and fire up my desk top to see if there are any dumpster fires on RDs , then I work from home (phones and web work) till 11 ish If I have damage inspections I still do the local area around SLO ,( but let my guys around Calif do anything further out) , then I go to the shop where I work till 5:30 Its the closest thing to "Retirment" I'll ever have

The thing is, in your case, you have so many fun and interesting things that you’re doing that you are probably excited to get up and go to the shop each morning. All this and money to!!!

Our bodies are meant to be active and challenged. Anything you do to keep moving throughout the day is beneficial. A part time job at lowes or anywhere that keeps you active is good.

Join a gym and lift weights. Limit your time on treadmills, lift. Pick a gym that is close and convenient so you will use it. I go to planet fitness . A basic membership is $10 month.

Was going to retire at least 3 times before. Employer kept dangling that carrot in front of me. 10-15% raise. Sure helps with the public pension I have.

Decided this year is it. Told my employer I'm leaving December 31 this year. 4 Months to go.

Don't know what I'm going to do but at least not kick the bucket at work and be hauled out on a gurney.

Travel, work in the yard, fix the house. Go for walks with my wife??????
