Hope this isn't a Vin but this seems slightly embellished. I just don't see this happening

Lots of diversity in LHC and on the water. I’ve never witnessed anything real obvious. Maybe it happens but his story is pretty wild.

Total bullshit story. One of two things happened:

- Either this guy and his group were acting like complete assholes and got treated accordingly (because of their actions, not their race)

Or

- This guy is making himself a victim because that's the trendy thing for certain people to do these days in order to get attention and raise hate toward groups that they don't like.

The people looking to be victims of racism and constantly have race on their mind are the real racists.

While my dad went to launch the boat into the lake, we set up a canopy for shade in the sand and then jumped into the water a few feet away.

I'm not a huge Havasu guy, but...

Is there a launch ramp there where you can walk to the beach and set up a easy up on??

Wow, I have never experienced anything like that. Sounds like he has a chip on his shoulder and attitude. That does not go over well anywhere. He must not have seen the channel on a Holiday weekend. There is all sorts of people, music and foolishness going on there. I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to be able to be in a area where people are so kind and considerate to others like boaters. Again I think that he is getting a little bit of what he is giving out.

I say bullshit story. I have never witnessed any of the kind of shit he's talking about. Really ? People booing and everyone flipping you the bird? Sounds like he is trolling for reactions. Another victim.

If it did happen it is probably because they had this flag of racism flying. Not saying it's right but it could be the only explanation of said events.

I have no clue, you're that Havasu guy, not me...

Is Windsor anywhere near Havasu Springs? Cause that's where that pic in the article is from! 🤣
Windsor is the beach area on the right when you come out of the channel going North.

I thought about this and it became very clear to me.
This group was in a rented or borrowed boat and had no idea what the hell they were doing.
I’m not going to address each point but 10 miles an hour in the channel would generate a strong response……
I call total bullshit and most likely never happened anyway.

I don’t know if this story is true or bullshit. I know I’ve experience reverse racism a few years back by a boatload of brothers & sisters on a pontoon while waiting to load onto my trailer at Windsor. I had a Trump 2020 Flag flying proud. Unprovoked they started yelling and calling me a Racist White Mother Fuqher. It’s a 2 Way Street!

Yes there are plenty that you can do that at. Actually almost every one that I can think of you can.

Yes Havasu Springs. The ramp is just on the other side of the hill from the beach they have and ez-ups are common. Though I have no idea what this guy is raving about. I've seen everyone there and no one gets treated like this. Also, I am not aware of AirBnB at the Springs, you're not supposed to sublet your place, but its possible.

Also no idea what he meant by "both sides". The beach is only on one side.

Maybe he was flying a pride flag?? Otherwise I smell a rat as I have seen full diversity on the lake and no one cares.

I don’t feel comfortable in downtown LA. Mostly black areas.
You don’t see me claiming it’s a racist town towards white people. (It is by the way, pretty bad)
The guy should find another lake if his trip was not fun.

I aint racist and would never treat anybody that way... I feel like many of you do that there's more to this story or it didn't happen

BUT

If this article gets around maybe we can expect less folks to want to go boating on LH??

It may all be BS, but it's a JC/CC publication. Seems like he only has a couple of other pieces in the publication. A new writer? Maybe he does have an agenda, but it hardly seems like ECC news is driving social change. Maybe after a few more years, he'll have refined his voice and be a better reporter of his own experiences and real news? or not? Who knows?

What is wrong with a family renting a boat and maybe a trailer for a weekend and heading out?

I sure hope that none of what he experienced was true. Any of it would suck if it did?

However, none of the what was described in the article is surprising behavior though. If you have never seen it happen, then you are living in a
bubble.

Yes, racism goes in all directions, but that doesn't excuse it anywhere.

It's an article from a "college" paper. I call bs. In 20 years of owning a place north of Havasu, never seen it. Maybe you high rollers are like that, but it seems more like my white trash trailer hood peeps would be more apt to have rebel flags on jet botes.

Several years back, a female "journalist" from possibly the same outfit, wrote about her "racist" experience at a Monster Jam show. Same deal, poor me and they are all racist...

I've worked in Watts, Compton and some of the finer parts of South Central...racism is a two way street. I just think some make their stories to fuel the anger brewing.
