Not joking I am pretty sure this is my neighbors skag off his magic. Clean sheared off right at that spot!!!

I always hang to the NV side in that area.

I ran my little 210 from The Riverside to Havasu and back twice about 8-10years ago. I can pretty much read the water as I grew up lake's/streams/rivers. Seemed both trips down were way skeptical than the trips back. Water level.was much lower at noon than 6-7pm.
This video from the damn run in 2015 is always a good watch. Don blew by me in by 210 doing about 35mph at about the 1:20 mark.

Honestly I been going to the river for 12 years and I still don’t get how to read the river.

Is flat water shallow water
Ripples are rocks
Brown water is a sand bar.

I mean how do you read that shit when it’s a busy day and every thing is turned up.

Especially when you’re at plane going 35 mph.

Or even in the morning when everything is glass and there are no ripples

I mean wearing polarized glasses just freaks you out more because everything looks shallow.

I mean going over the rock bar by willow valley when the water high is still sketchy.

You look over and it looks shallow as fuck lol.

Not gonna lie, experience helps.
Went from pirates cove (park moabi) to Davis camp, mid July.
After the Avi, it was dark. And probably 4 units.
1990 ski Malibu, probably planes at what, 17 mph? Direct drive, no junk to trim up. Only time I've driven a prop boat for any distance.
The Avi to nearly Rotary Park was nearly pitch black. Big ass mag lite checking how far the banks are.
Beyond that, the banks are clearly visible.
Mostly from knowing where the channel is.
Casino row was like daylight
Davis camp ramp is almost lit up.
Only one other boat headed south, just before the Avi a small tin fishin outboard boat.

Knowing the water releases really helps. 2 units can be sketchy. Been caught in one unit before. A ditch pump helped that time. 5 units is enough to pilot the Queen Mary thru.

If you’re willing to take your time and learn the lines it’s really not as scary as most people think. It really is the best boating of Havasu imo

I ran my 21’ from the channel to Davis dam at least once a summer.

The hard part was finding a line from the lake to the river transition. After that, a good pair of polarized sunglasses, and the line needed becomes clear as day.

What I find challenging is how fast the river flows in the afternoon in front of the casinos. Not a fun place to hangout and boat.
