Our daughter recently had lunch in NYC with friends who live in a small town in Texas. They told her, when they left for NY, Taylor Sheridan was in their town hiring locals for the next series of 1883. Apparently it is goin to be about the first black sheriff. Sam Elliot, in the original 1883, had a black friend from the Civil War. Maybe he'll become the black sheriff?

1883 has been out for a couple years. It’s the prequel to Yellowstone. I love that series, is has a finite ending. Next in the series is 1923, which is out now as well.

I read multiple places that 1923 will be different than 1883, and will have at least 2 seasons without jumping forward in time. Season 1 (8 episodes) has already ended. It was all pretty much a setup for future episodes. I also read they haven't even filmed season 2 yet. It will film this summer. 😕😕

Well, all the drama about Costner leaving and only being available for so much shooting makes all
The sense now.

A gal friend went to their wedding.... killer place as I recall in Mt or Wy.... she was snooping around upstairs and stumbled into Don Johnson & that Tool Guy doing bumps in a bedroom. She said the floor had a hinged door that opened up to a slide into a big hot tub below. She accepted their kind jestures on the bumpypoos....

I hadn’t heard he was leaving the show.
Thought I heard that Yellowstone was supposed to be an extended mini series type of show and it just blew up in popularity? It seemed to always be an undertone every off season that it was going to be his last as the filming took up too much of his family time. I thought maybe they were going to kill him off when he got shot?

I'm sure Wife Ratched was on his ass constantly for getting to go play badass cowboy all the time. Fuk'n dreamkiller...🙃

It’s been in the news a lot. He wanted to dwindle down his on set time to basically nothing and then the articles were saying he may be trying to leave all together etc etc. been a lot of drama about it. Delay in production and late to return to finish off this season.

This divorce shit makes sense now. But no, he’s not leaving.

Did you ever get to the other two? 1880 & 1923 I actually preferred them myself but all three were great.

Unfortunately Tank he is indeed leaving the show. It grew into something a little more than he wanted is what I was told. We all know what that is.
So in the next few episodes of the continuation of season 5 something will transpire.

My wife's good friend is getting married to a Hollywood producer, director of mostly Lifetime and Hallmark movies and short run shows.
I met him for the 1st time a couple months ago at dinner here at a local pub. He is good friends with Costner and told me about his challenges with the show. Lucky we had it last as long as it did. Yellowstone will end at season 5.

Taylor Sheridan has plans to spin off Yellowstone using Rip and Beth however they are concentrating on the 6666 ranch first and 1965 which comes next after 1923 which may get a second season. This is why all the key cowboy players of Yellowstone were sent to Texas to pave a way to start another series, 6666, to preserve their characters.

Yellowstone will end but not completely so to speak.

My next door neighbor that works on the show told me today. Writer strike started. They have been on hold with work waiting for them to come to a agreement. But strike is underway.

You would think the end of season 5 has already been written since filming has started no?

Yeah. Seemed to me from the articles I read he was trying to leave for sure. Sounded like 5 was gonna be the end.

I thought it very interesting the true history of 6666 ranch (I’m sure you’ve read about it) and the fact when it recently went up for sale Sheridan and a few investors bought it!! Crazy.

Not sure I can ask him. He just said the strike started and it could be a week or months before he is back to work. Been off around 4 months already. Said they were waiting on negotiations.

It was a big price tag but several went in on the purchase. He did not know the final outcome on 6666 however Costner is not a part of it.

I have no Idea what they are paying Harrison Ford for 1923 but the shows ratings are up there.

As far as the end of Yellowstone I hope its memorable.

The teamsters are not going to cross any film set so that has to be an issue since they do all the heavy lifting.

KC is work 250 million and im sure the show grew to aa point where it was bigger and more demanding than he wanted.

Sheridan is creating an empire and I don't think Costner really wants to be at someone else's beck and call at this stage in his life.

He is also currently filming a series of western movies out here in S. Utah.

While We’re talking Costner. One of his best rolls / characters and the shoot out in open Range has been described as one of the top shoot out scenes in western film. The slow build up is worth the end. Great flick.

Great moving, but Robert Duvall always plays great westerns. Lonesome Dove still one of my all time favorites.

Remember YellowStone was originally supposed to be 3 seasons, we got lucky and got 5.
After 3, all the spin-offs started and Kevin was already looking for an exist, even though Sheridan wanted to extend it past 5. The agreement was to end YellowStone and have spin-offs for select characters under a new name

5 seasons is a good run, but it feels like the writers painted themselves in a corner with this last season. Hopefully the prequels keep coming and limited to one or two seasons a piece.

So who's gonna die in the second half of season 5?
