I don’t even know how you would get it out of the boat without that thing potentially hurting you pretty good..
Having caught a good number of Makos, who love to jump and can be extremely persistent when trying to kill, the getting the damn thing out or dead is the video I'd like to see. I thought one of them mentioned the shark had jumped in right after he'd hooked it, but I could be wrong.
Down in Cabo we had a skipper decide to bring home a large one that had jumped on one of our baits.
That damned thing had been baking in the sun in the cockpit with us fishing over and around him for 2 hours. When he slid out from under the gunnel and my buddy shoved him back with his foot -- he woke up and tried to eat everybody in the cockpit.
Now there's three gringos scrambling and jumping trying to keep from getting bit, the Mex skipper and deck hands are up on the bridge laughing their asses off watching us.

Fishing off San Clemente Island a few years back, wife hooked a young Mako of probably 80lbs or so. As it got close to the transom it launched itself and the line tension nearly guided it into the cockpit. I was on the flybridge not laughing, but I have to admit there was a chuckle forming as my wife and two adult sons bolted to the salon door. ;)

Makos are jumpers for sure, seen them launch when they weren't even hooked up. I had to kick the one I caught trolling in my inflatable off Avalon out twice during the fight to subdue him. They're squirrely bastards  Sharks can be hard on equipment. They've bent my two or three gaffs, chewed on my swimstep, but I love me some Mako steaks. 😋
