Good series! Just watched it on a plane, a lot more historical context than the typical Hollywood depictions.

This should be good!

I'm sure I'll start an argument with the following, but "Wyatt Warp" with Kevin Costner was the best yet. I loved Val Kilmer in Tombstone, but Russell doesn't command the screen the way Costner does. For those reasons, I'll put Tombstone as a close second.

Let's see how this stacks up against those two epic films.

It was good and well narrated. I binged-watched it earlier this week. I appreciated the accounts of the historians that were used to ensure the documentary was as true as it could be.
I think if you took only the historically true parts out of every Hollywood movie ever made about the OK Corral, Wyatt, Doc, Tombstone, etc. you probably still couldn't put together a correct account of what really happened.

I am watching episode 2 now and enjoying it., as I am sick in bed from the grandkids last week. I think they gave it to grandma and she gave it to me. Thanks for the recommendation.

Agreed.

Everytime I see Curt Russel, all I see is Capt. Ron!

The Kevin Costner movie was a much better movie, just based on that fact alone! 😁

You guys are crazy, Tombstone for the win every time! 😬 that’s the one I watched first so I’ll alway pick it.

The series is good so far, I like how they explained the beef between Wyatt and Behan.

BTW: There are documentaries on You Tube with Director Ford and John Wayne relating and saying in person they were friends with and talked to Wyatt Earp who said " the gunfight at the OK corral happened at the OK corral."

Everything else said are fairytales according to Earp.

Watched the entire series numerous times. It's a bit older

The Kevin Koster one was ok just to long for me Tombstone was just more entertaining to me and more action.
A lot more embellishment I'm sure but I'm a fan of Russell and Kilmer.

Correct. It was basically a entertaining soap opera, based on one or two facts. 😜

And That's exactly why they cast Kurt Russell. Tough guy. Yeah right.

Let's not forget about Overboard shall we??

I agree. It was less Hollywood “I’m your huckleberry” pizazz and a bit more historically accurate as far as movies go.

I wonder how much of this Wyatt Earp story is real and how much is Hollywood embellishment. If is true, it shows our government has been corrupt at least since the 1880’s.
it also had a segment that made me see what it would take to fix what’s happening now.

Whatched the whole thing last night. Couldn't turn it off.

Makes you realize this country has been divided since day one.

Awesome history lesson. 👍🏼

Tombstone was good, Wyatt Earp was way better. Better acting, more of the backstory on how Wyatt became who he was. And not to mention Joanna Going as Josie was WAY hotter in Wyatt Earp vs. Tombstone 😁

Tombstone for me, the history behind the making of the two movies and how Costner tried to undermine the making of Tombstone is interesting.

A story well told and beautifully filmed and acted, but Episode 5 was really slow. Should have condensed the story down to four episodes.

Half way through. REALLY think it’s well done. Great concept with part movie and part documentary. Great acting, great history.

As far as Wyatt Earp vs tombstone. I liked them both but tombstone was better I thought. Waaaaay more entertaining. The individual scenes and editing was fantastic in tombstone. Each little scene in that movie is life long quotable. I’m a Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner fan but Costner came off trying a little too hard in Wyatt Earp I thought. I’m not a huge fan of Val Kilmer, I think he’s ok. But his doc holiday should’ve won an Oscar. Dennis Quad’s couldn’t touch it. It’s been a while since I’ve watched Wyatt Earp though and I’ve been meaning to watch it again.

Well, started it last night, and watched the whole damn thing till midnite. Tired as hell this morning getting up at 5, but it was one of those you kinda just have to keep going. Great show, didn't know most of the shit the Earps went through before watching this.

Started watching the other day. I like it.

For me the best parts of Tombstone and Wyatt Earp, I like both, were Val Kilmer and Dennis Quaid playing Doc.

Wife and I took a trip down to Tombstone during Covid, was a pretty cool little town, did all the tourist stuff and stayed in a little airbnb out in the middle of nowhere

I did hear second hand from my great grandpa a story directly from the shootout at the OK Corral. Not really impressive in detail but still from someone who was really at Tombstone..

My family has been in AZ since the civil war times. A friend of my great-great grandpa was a child in Tombstone when the shootout at the OK Corral occurred. He remembers watching people following the Earps walking towards the OK Corral. When the shooting started he remembers his mom grabbing him and shoving him under the bed. My great grandpa, who repeated everything my great great grandpa told him, was very meticulous in repeating every detail he was told about the gunshots, yelling, what people were doing and etc. I was young when I heard it and don't remember much of it but my family has it written down somewhere. Honestly, it was cool to hear second hand details that otherwise are lost in history.
