Who would have thought Deckboats would appreciate like real estate! Kicking myself for not scooping a magic at LBYS in 2009 for 25k

A lot of the Magics were not completed. I went down there the first week. My buddy bought one without a motor and stereo.

I’ve seen most of these boats. I have been looking for the last 6 months. There seems to be more listings now maybe because holiday breaks are running out. I probably should wait until winter to snag one up. Crazy what the used market is demanding and how many new builds have gone out. When the economy turns there will be a lot more boats available at deeply discounted pricing. I guess it’s just patience and having the money ready at the right time. Good thing I have both.

Yeah they those boat were partially rigged. I could have bought one for $20k but a lot of the gel coat graphics were cheesy
All the ones i walked thru, were fully ready to roll minus motor / drive. Gauges, stereo, fuel tanks, interior, triple axle trailer, bimini, etc.....Add power and roll
Yes the Gel was cheesy on some....,but that's Magic. Those cheezy boats with a used 496HO and Bravo are pulling 60K plus right now lol

I was going to have a new boat built. I have a brand new mercury racing 520 motor and XR drive but most of the builders want 90-100k just for the boat and trailer with out motor package. I’d be better buying used and selling the motor I have it finding a used boat with 496 and replacing with the 520 then sell the 496

I know it’s supply and demand.

I figured they would'nt be work shit, people would know a 08 magic was most likely pieced together at some random shop, and steered away from them, boy was i wrong!

The 08 and newer Magics dont fetch as much as the ones from the factory. It's crazy what these sell for. I've owned mine for 3 years and its been the best boat I've ever owned, by far. I could make a decent profit on it but just cant let it go.

The wife and I stopped in the Nordic shop last week just to see what the hype was about. Their 26 and 29 decks looked very nice. I looked closely at the fit and finish and was impressed. It looks like a very nice and well built boat. The manager threw out some numbers performance wise, but I have never driven or even been on one so I can't say how they perform. We currently own a deep vee so I would be curious to hear what real world numbers people are getting from these two models. So, performance wise, I do not know what Nordic does. Styling, fit and finish, I was impressed.

Nordic’s are fast as far a performance, my dads 900 hp 29 deck with a scx ran 105 in June. With full tanks of gas.

I’ve been in one with a 565 at 82 in July with 5 people and shit.

I saw a howard 26' VTX I believe its called. they are claiming 60-65 MPH with a 6.2 Merc. really good looking boat but I heard they are still in the $100K plus range. For that amount might a well get a larger cat.

Here's a Next 26' deck just listed by Rockstar Boats. Saw it on their instagram page.

I would look at the cheetah wildcat....can't go wrong... one of the fastest 26' deck boats on the water... they are layed up by the same people that do advantage boats,.. and the older ones where layed up by lench, same guy that did E-ticket.. they are roomy and the front passengers sit deep in the boat.. 10-to 12 passengers easy..they handle the havasu ruff with ease... and they hold there value the best of all the decks out there..my wife had one , 496 ho, ran with all the magics with 525's.... and ones with 496's we're even close to a race..She had it for 4 years.. and got all her money back when it sold. they are rockets out of the hole... and they will build you a boat with your power... the rigging is well done... through bolted everywhere...my wife traded up to a wildcat with a 525...full hydraulic steering... with a labbed 29' it went over 90 on gps..she runs a 27 p now and goes around most all decks with ease..the ride is superior to most all in its class and the hull is a gary lench design..

the cool thing about them is they will do it how you want.. and do a good job,...the power you have would make a nice set up... differance here as I would not have done the 525 … with the 525 I run right with all the ones with stock merc 600's.. 90 mph is too fast for a weekend at havasu boat for me, and I don't have the self control to keep from running it on pin...doesn't matter who's fault it is ,.. when you kill some ones kid on a sea doo for the main reason you were going to fast..it won't be good.. and like I said before,.. I'd like to have some thing that I could limit the power under the hatch, then I would have to stop and flip the switch. by then I would think about what I was doing..i'm going to just guess here but I amagine if they rigged the boat with you power, you would be south of 60k with a triple axel trailer...people here only talk shit... and very few will tell you what happen when they ran against sue's cheetah...we ran with a 525 24' schiada, had to keep slowing down to be able to do a video of it running on pin.....so there you have it...

@Hdgasser has one, that one is a bit overpriced though imo...

An 07 for 82k! Damn... if that's the case I might put my '13 up for sale! It does have a 500 which would be nice.

@danben111 they ride great, my family loves ours. Mines performs well with an HO in it, of course its be nicer if it was a 525 but I cant complain.

I’ve seen the videos with sues boat. Really nice set up and seems to ride great. I was looking at a 2013 cheetah a guy has for sale with a 572 whipple on it. It’s a monster engine with 900hp. But like you said I hear a lot of chatter (bad feedback) on the cheetah. I can get his for a pretty good deal. I just don’t want a nightmare on my hands. Want a boat to hold up, not flex (magic deck), and be reliable somewhat. They all require service but I don’t want to spend summers doing motor repairs. I had a 27’ ultra shadow that fell apart (delamed) and I won’t go through that again. I thought cheetahs were in the 60k range with power? I am being patient (which is hard) there are so many nice boats out there. I think the market is high right now and I don’t want to be one of those guys that buys high and then things tank.

I like how they are designed where you just step off the back of the boat into water. I just heard they are very heavy and sluggish.

The rear steps are nice but require some upper body strength to get out of the water if your floating in the lake. Another cool thing is wont see 200 of the same boat parked in the channel on a holiday weekend. Lol

Heavy and sluggish? False.

I can run 72-73, 26p, bimini down, 2 people and minimal junk with an HO.

Memorial weekend in havasu with 7 people, junk, coolers for days, bimini up, 24p prop will do 60 with throttle left.

I thought your boat looked familiar. You just had the rub rail painted right?

I can tell you this,.. over 8 years of Sue owning wildcats,.. not one single repair to anything gas and service has been all,.. and like I said you won't hear much about all the boats that have run against her boat with bigger power that got to get a short but good look at the ass of her boat...but, she's only 5'2" and 1** lbs, (can't post weight if I'm off by one lb death..) the boat will get on plane @ 2000 rpms... and will whole shot any deck boat out there..super riding boat in the havasu ruff and uses less fuel.. like I said, the newer ones are lay'n up by the guys from advantage... cheetah got a bad name for the cheapest built small boats...as years went on , and they quit lay'n up ther own hull.. thing got way better, but the name didn't...big mouths on the web that continue to tell made up stories has made their reputation low...there is a story about one almost sinking in the channel... but the true story was never told... what happened was, a guy ran the boat on the ground, boat was totaled... they guy kept the boat so it never got the title branded... had the big hole in the bottom half ass repaired,.. and sold it...the new owner took it out and got pounded out in the ruff water... busted the patch loose and the boat took on water..I think he was still able to get it on the trailer... he took it to bob and wanted a new hull... bob told him to pound sand cause the boat was totaled...the story went something like this on the forum... bought a new cheetah and the bottom fell out and bob won't fix it..but...if your have to have a bragging name brand, they aren't the boat, but if you wanna a nice boat that holds it value...it's a good choice....If you see us in havasu… hit me up , I'll give you a ride...there's new owners at cheetah, Bob retired, bob's idea was make boating more affordable. and I've never talked to a cheetah boat owner that didn't like their boat,
