My grandfather passed away when I was 21. My grandmother gave the watch to his son (my dad). On my 30th bday my dad gave me a 4 page letter with all the awesome memories he had of me for the last 30 years. He cried while I read it out loud in the company of my wife and some family members. Wrapped up in a box was my grandfathers Rolex I so ever cherished. It was mine for my 30th bday. I miss my gramps and it's a fine way to remember him.

A buddy of mine has the same one. I really like that watch.

So, this past Christmas, before all of the gift exchange junk starts, my Pops calls me aside from the group. He hands me one of those small Crown Royal blue bags with the gold draw strings. Inside was the watch that my Mother gave to him on their 25th wedding anniversary.

Planning an appraisal as I'm guessing that this thing is 5-6 oz of maybe 14-18k gold in the band alone. Back of the watch is noted as 14k and the clasp is 14k but no markings on the band links. Watch is a Mathey-Tissel (or maybe Tisset).
