Is this on TV?

I’m starting to swing more and more to the interesting dynamic of a single class with multiple power options. For example I’m liking the TAD where they have the choice of blown alcohol or injected nitro.

With Pro Mod it’s fun to see the Nitrous, Turbo and Blower options go head to head. Makes it much more interesting.

I still haven’t seen a clear favorite among the power adders, but those drivers need to be on their game as the cars seem to be so even.

Someone who even mildly likes this stuff seeing (hearing) the nitro cars is a must. However I enjoy the Pro Mods much better, and always have. I was lucky as a kid to be around all this stuff. My folks were buddies with some of the guys who started it all back in the 80's, that being Tommy Howes and The Wild Bunch. Tommy was the first door slammer in the 6's. Glad they've gained the popularity they have. I wish Bradenton was a couple hours closer and I would ride down.

Too much work for me to go this year, all my partners in crime are there supporting Craig Sullivan and Joe O. My other good buddy from town here is now part of the Rickie Smith umbrella after a couple years with Mike Janis. Should be a great watch all weekend.

Been to the track. Loved it, not too big or small, but I can’t get past the fact they don’t have any safety netting at the end. There’s sand, but I was there a couple weeks ago for top fuel/funny cars doing 341, and I held my breath on each run. All good that day, but I don’t like the safety issues.

Holy crap what an awesome display of sportsmanship for 100k cash ! Final round had one team allowing the other contender time to swap motor , only to have their car not start for the final. motor swapping team gave them time to return car to their pit and swap out a starter. Held up the show for quite a while but they both wanted to race for the cash , Jim Halsey waited and ended up shaking the tires for the loss. Great sportsman right there.

That was a real good thing to see. We were talking about it in the chat while all that was going on. It wouldn't have hurt my feelings if they had split the purse before they ran. Sportsmanship...Teach it to your kids !

Nitrous car in the finals (love me some nitrous!), and had the tuneup been a whisker different he would have won!

A couple things I noticed

1- The screw blower cars are THICK! They are obviously figuring that program out!

2- If you can’t run mid 3.60s you might as well not waste your entry fee!

3- Cars are going down the track WAYYYY more than even just 3-4 years ago. Less tire shake, less crashes, etc.
