What is the going rate these days in So cal ?

I was getting estimates 2 years ago for install labor with LVP at $2.50-$3.00 per sqft and $3.50-$4.40 for wood flooring. What is going rate these days in So cal ?

I pay about that now. Leveling, grinding and self leveler is extra.

For my flips, I hire the hispanic guys that work for flooring companies. $250/day for the guys that have good experience, $160/day for no experience guys to load, unload, cleanup, make simple cuts, runners. They can blow out an 1800SF home in a couple days. Usually 3-4 guys on job.

$2-6 depending on if you hire a company or a installer.

For that much sq ft. I would bid labor around $3-4 depending on the job. A hungry installer with a $1500 truck hand almost no tools you could probably get for $1.50 a ft.

Whatever you do, get the grinding/leveling done. Not the place to cheap out even with LVP. Not difficult to do yourself either if you have time

You can find dudes that will slam and go as low as $1.50 a sqft labor only. For lvp and laminate average labor only cost is $2 85- $4.00 per foot and wood is usually a little higher at $3-6 labor only.

Prep is the the biggest part with LVP, laminate, and wood. For lvp and laminate if the floor isn't as flat as you can get it, you can get spots that bounce, break edges, or buckle. With wood you will get hollow spots. If you hire a guy and you don't see them grind and lay down a decent amount of patch or leveler, you have to question them.

Thank you

Yeah I know the prep is huge. We have 1100 ish of old wood that is glued down that needs to be torn out as well as some cracked slab that needs to repaired then sealed. it's also a double stairway with 21 steps and I know the stair labor is additional.

I was just curious iff the overall labor has changed much in the last two years.

Prices should still be around the same for labor. Installs are a little slow for residential work so you might be able to find some hungry guys.

I just got a Home Depot quote this afternoon for my house, and looks like $4.30/sqft for LV. Leveling and griding is listed as extra.
