Wolf spider and babies

A few days ago I spotted a pretty big wolf spider in the garage. It was next to the door, so I decided to just push it outside. When I touched the spider with a screwdriver, weird stuff began happening. I looked closer, and there were hundreds of baby spiders on its back.

I did a little reading and found out it's common for wolf spiders to carry the young on their backs until they mature somewhat. The photo isn't very good, but it was a really interesting discovery.

How large is that one? I get some around my house here, have not seen one with babies so far (thankfully)

You gotta get 3 of those wolf spiders, train them and keep them as pets.

All kidding aside. Spiders dont bother me much. It's the assholes with wings that get me pissed off.

I'd be getting an aerosol can and a lighter.. That thing and it's kin would all be up in smoke in 2 seconds flat.

It wasn't very big, out to the end of its legs about a 1" diameter.

I always get a laugh when the conversation turns to snakes and spiders at RDP.

Just happened to me last week. I just finished trimming everything in the backyard that day. Let the dog out just before going to bed. Open the slider to let the dog in and here comes a huge wolf spider. I normally send off my arachnid friends with a butane torch. My girlfriend hands me her slipper to smash it and it explodes. Thousands of babies scurrying about. Now she sees why I use butane.

And the house was sprayed inside and out 4 weeks ago. I think it was the fact that I evicted them they decided to move in with me.

There's still one or more out there. I see webs as strong as bait nets around the pool furniture and the bar out back.
