Used to be true but no longer the case in Phoenix. The catholic schools are maybe 50% rich white kids and 50% poor as dirt kids from the south and west sides who are not white. Some schools are even mostly poor minority, all on scholarships of all kinds like STO/CEA.

Maybe my parents were too strict, but I'm damn sure no amount of deceit would have steered them towards arming me. If I were to have told them I feared for my life, I'd have been in another school. If I said I wanted to practice with one, Pops would have taken me to the range. At no point would they have said "Here ya go, have a nice day."

Gun owners have a responsibility to keep their firearms away from anyone who is a threat, to yourself, to others, and even themselves. As a parent, you have the responsibility to keep your children safe, and that at times can be difficult. These parents, well intentioned or not, failed on both of these. They lost a child too, but they could have, or should have, been able to stop the loss of multiple lives.
