Windy Day on Havasu (video)

This is the trip back from Pirates Cove on Saturday of the 10 yr Regatta, we are already half way from the river to the channel, but the waves were getting bigger and we had to slow down.

That ride back was the first time I "doubled" the swells in my boat. Hit one just right and powered up the face and jumped to the next, it was a smooth landing.

It's funny how videos don't really show how bad the water really was. I came back through that at 3:00 on Saturday. I gave my buddy one hell of a ride. We ran that water at 95 mph. The predator hull is an amazing rough water boat.

I would have run the upper basin in my 21 no problem.. that water got pretty nasty over by the channel though, without actually being in my 21 it would be hard to say if you could run it at speed or not. There was some big ass holes out there.

The big Hallett wouldn't have mattered if we kept speed. I slowed down because I wanted to keep an eye on my other boat. Lol.

It's wasn't bad for Kenny and myself either, we just cruised and took it easy. (Damn I can't load the video.) we stayed right at 110-112 from the mouth to the channel. That water was big.

Eliminator 25' Eagle. When its the wife and I we motor across that stuff. Add a couple of panic ed kinds into the mix and we cruz along with the tabs down.

Boating Mead my whole life Havasu rough is like a 10-12mph breeze at Mead.

Last trip out weather was coming in and we left middle point early. Everyone was like why are you leaving now? I said just wait you will find out.

I just have the Bennett tabs on my boat and when we rode back through it I was at 5 on the left and 8 on the right to even out the boat. Trimmed all the way down, we motored through it at 45 MPH, no problem. If I really get on top of it, I like to tab down and trim up.
