Stayed at Williams for a couple days to escape Havasu heat , took the Rzr and fire road to Jerome , about 110 miles round trip . Everything was way greener than I anticipated . Jerome is a quaint old ghost / mining town now geared to tourism . Perkins ranch about 1/2 way was beyond beautiful . Lots of monsoons all around .

What a bitchin ride, the wife and I took the boys to Williams last week and I was wondering about local rides in the area. I'd like to go explore that area in the SxS
If you can, get the forestry map of the area. It will give you a great view of what is where with elevations too. If you head up on a weekday, the major area forestry office is right there in Williams...pretty cool massive log cabin kind of place.

Let me know when you want to get out of the heat again
Today we went to Parks and had lunch at Mustang River Grill and then made a 60 mile loop and stopped at Schultz lake
Some rain earlier and a double rainbow

We should do a group ride...

I will absolutely get in touch when I'm ready to go. I have a 2 month old at home right now and he needs to get a little older before I take the talon out for a decent ride.

My 2 year old is always ready to go on the other hand!!

I use Gaia maps but mainly if we find a new road or trail. We try to stay on fire roads since we ride alone.
Been going camping there for 20 years and finally bought a home there and sold the rv

@fishing fool brought this up recently as well.

This ride to Jerome is still on our to do list. Just have not had time in between all the other road trips we been doing. We did stop with the bikes in Williams last month. Really pretty!

Way cool, did you carry extra gas? I think I would be coasting down the last hill in neutral. How much time did you spend getting there? Any others on the road?

The paddle shift is definitely fun, although I do wish I had a little more power...
I'm actually happy with the power it has, I live in havasu and run mine on the street regularly, anymore hp and I'd be eating up the subtrans

Not to thread hijack but where did you get your hardtop for the bed? I’m looking for one for a 2024 Taco and it seems there’s not much out there still.

It was 55 miles 1 way , in a Pro R I averaged 16 mpg going and 10 coming back , gas capacity is 12 gallons . Took about 3 hrs each way taking my time . I passed about 3-4 people

Its a Snugtop. It was very hard to place order not knowing what it was going to look like. I had seen one at Sema a year ago, but nobody had photos. I am pleased with it. but pricey AF! 🤬

Most of the fire roads are county maintained and you can use a regular gps to get around and you will see plenty without going off on the side trails.
Those are numbered horizontaly where the side trails are vertical
Most side trails will just loop around to the main road. Some are dead ends and some are too rough.

Vertical Signs: Forest roads with vertically-numbered route markers mean you can ride with an RV plate and Decal or MC plate and OHV Decal.

Horizontal Signs: Forest roads with horizontally-numbered route markers mean you have to be "street legal" (MC plate and OHV Decal).
