Shirt answer because its faster then the rest of the field and people are concerned about the closing speeds between it and the rest of the field, especially the slower classes.

Those same Nordic drivers deal with similar speed differences pulling water skiers in races, and manage to not get anyone hurt. I am not involved with any boats preparing for this years race, but know of one that ran in 2007 with far less power but perhaps close to the same speed range.

I need to get permission from the owner to post, but I have some converted movie film from 1969 Parker 9 Hour showing the mass start of around 100 boats or so.

One of them drives like a Fucking Idiot in the Enduro but it did cost them an overall win a couple of years ago due to a pit penalty because they got caught!

The Nordic isn't the only boat to be restricted....

We have to put our Outboard 's engine down 1 3/4" from where we run optimally....reduces our speed by 13 MPH.

Can't have a single modification to our engine or lower gearcase.... NOTHING. Bone Stock.

We have to pit twice ....for NO REASON on our end. We can roll the whole deal without stopping.

We have to race boats with over 4 times as much power, then hand them OUR advantage of being able to go non stop.

If we ran unrestricted we would run a DBR ENGINE, 90 gallons on board, no stop strategy.

With a DBR, expect a 3:50 or less lap time .... use 4 min , the math is easier... 4 min x 50 laps = 200 min = 3 hours 33 minutes flat. I say we would run 3:25 min pace. Take a look at the overall times for the 300...excess of 4 hours.

Now, do you think they will let the leash off the War Canoe?

Scarlata is lickin' his chops to roll the 336....

I haven't even seen the final version of the rules yet? Supposed to be released today.

I can't imagine that anyone would not want that film to be seen by us boat fans but I guess there are strange people everywhere. Please post it if you can.

Thanks, Steve
