Looks, size, Motor, and it does everything we want!! Price was nice too!
It's been a great boat the three years we've had and I don't plan on selling it!! Had my last boat 14 years, I'm sure I will have this one just as long or longer!!
No payments makes boating so much more fun!!! And we just bought a house with a Tandem garage so she can be well taken care of!!

I spent years researching the very best boats. I didn't just want something really good. It had to be the very best at every metric that myself or anyone else could think of.

This was to be a world beater. A boat that would never be topped, that could never be improved.

That boat turned out to be the Carlson CVX-16.

I had a flatty, but wanted a bigger v-drive for Parker. I sold my flatty and noticed a 20' schiada v-drive up for sale and picked it up for dirt cheap. Unfortunately, once I pulled the motor it was time for a full rebuild

I always liked boats. When my brother in law bought his bayliner in 2005 and after going out and doing the "boating thing" I was hooked. So in 2010 I got my 2006 21ft Tahoe Q6. Its a cookie cutter boat but works great for my family. And is always turnkey ready.(as long as battery is good :D)

I chose this one because It was blue, open bow, newer model 2006,was over 19ft and most importantly I could afford it. When I bought it I wasnt initially in the market but a friend was selling his 1996 Searay for a good price but he ended up not selling it. Nedless to say my itch still needed to be scratched. Kinda glad it worked out that way because I ended up getting a much nicer boat!!

Was owed the money. He gave me his boat. Said he was going to sell it for 50K and pay me off. Boat was only worth 35K. Had I let him sell it, I would have NEVER seen any money. So I took the boat and called it square :-( I guess if I never sell it, I'll never lose the money.:p

Got rid of the pontoon because it was too much room (read: too much to clean) for just the two of us. Also, we really missed going fast. Got our boat because it is fast, paid for, super clean and I LOVE the tunnel hull.

Easy on fuel, cheap on Insurance, transporting is a snap & no permits ..LOL

ITS A SKATER NATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, why don't you post a pic of your fuel efficient easy to insure and tow ride.;):thumbsup

As for me budget was the first factor, followed by something big enough/designed to handle a big lake. I also wanted a blue motor and something that there wasn't 100 of out there.

The result of a couple of years of market research combined with a lifetime of boating. It was my first boat that I have puchased, have had it for 9 years, and will probably keep it for several more years.

Essex Sterling, 21', 6.2 mpi Bravo III.

We can sleep on it, live on it, play and sun on it, tow with it, do the ocean with it, Lake Powell with it,, Bahamas with it,, tow it,, lot's of comforts like Dual Sat TV's, A/C etc.,, and a 6 year warranty.
More adventures than any other boat I've ever owned.

What make of boat do you have, and how big! If you have a sat on your boat it must be fairly big.

CVX-16 with 115 Johnson was my first boat. I had 19, 21, and 23 pitch aluminum props. Figured I had any situation covered, there wasn't 2 mph difference in them.:p Lot of good times though.:)

It works real great for the family.

If I had it to do all over again I would have waited a few more years, but the way it's built it will last for a long time!

Love my Lavey!

About middle of 08 a member took me in a ride in thier stoker. after that I knew I had to have one. just wish I had the time and or cash to enjoy it more. Same old story, I either have all the money I could want, but no time or all the time in the world and no money.

I wanted something that could handle anything Havasu could throw at me and Fountain makes as good of rough water boats as anybody. So I have had one since 05

I had a 24' V as my first boat and hated pretty much everything about that boat. I knew I wanted something in the 28' V range and came upon my boat. I do like the Fountain brand and the way it performs and handles and would buy another without much concern.

Got my present boat for a song with only 28 hrs on engines and drives. It's 22 years old with a few scrathes here and there. Not missing about worrying my beloved Spectras getting scratches or clubbered by some fools at the dock. Always had to keep an eye on who's on and around them.

Spit it out, it isn't yours :D
Bwahahahaha... :D

The average depth of the lower river is about 4' deep. A jetboat might be gay to some but it's the perfect lower river boat for me, right now. I have my heart set on a 21 Daytona, Mach 22 or KMG 22 with an outboard. You can blame that shit on Ultrababe and Mr. Ultrababe... :D

It was in the family. And when it went up for sale, I knew I had to have it for the kids.

I've been most every kinna bout out there at one point or another, and the toons are just way too much fun. Put a crap load of people on em, all kinna food and drinks, and you still have room to move around. Hang a Q off the side and you can eat where ever you are. Ever had BBQ shrimp and sausage hang'n out at the sandbar? It's pretty cool with a drink in your hand!

Plus, after turning wrenches all day, thats the last thing i want to do on my own personal stuff. Low maintenance was key on this decision.

Paid cash. Done deal. No payments gives me more money for fuel. Fuggin 2 smoke. :grumble: :p

If I WAS gonna buy a boat to go fast, it would be a Stoker. :thumbsup:thumbsup

I went for a ride in my buddy's conquest deck and that was it. I had a cat the next summer.
I test drove a DCB, Force, Eliminator and the Howard. I liked the DCB and the Howard the best for ride and over all finish in the boat quality. I tried to buy the DCB but he sold it the day before I went back. I wanted it because it had the more ci. I am very happy with my Howard. I did redo the motor right away to the way I wanted it but this boat loves the chop.
