Whose Boating This Weekend

We will be boating tomorrow but gonna hit 3 dunes then springs for a drink then finish the day with pizza in the channel. My sister and her husband are bringing their boat which does a top speed of like 35 so don’t wanna put them in a situation of dcb running by them. He is fairly new to boating also only second season

Anyone going out today or tomorrow?

Looking like we will be on the water around 11am today and heading to three dunes. Maybe lunch at the springs around 1-2.

Tomorrow thinkIng of running up to Pirates. Going to grab a spot where we can watch the DCBs fly by. Then head up to see them at Pirates and have lunch there or Topock. Got a new pair of black socks so I think that I will fit it.

We are either leaving tonight or early in the morning tomorrow. I think we were planning on having lunch at topock tomorrow if we launch in time. Didn’t realize there was also the DCB regatta going on. We thought it was going to be a quiet day in the gorge!

Unfortunately this is a wrap for us for the season. What a great year on the new sled. Kids loved it my wife enjoys it so all is good. Here is a few pics from Howard regatta. They had a good turnout. My son and daughter had a great time up at pirate and being the flag girl.

Got out in the RIB. Only a small amount of color so far. Passed 3 boats. Everyone busy pulling out. Still some nice days ahead. Luv having a fleet of outboards. Can service all the boats in a few hours.

Was in the same situation once. Our son insisted that he knew the route up river. I pulled the rip cord right before the turn and pulled around only to be a bit off corse. Ended up going in some small channel With reeds on both sides. There was a buoy didn’t even slow down to see what it said. Pulled out of the reeds on a little side exit. Not sure where I was or how bad it could have been. Just happy we made it out of there without any issues.

It’s a little shallow, but no worse than some places on the lower river. Actually I think it’s safer than the main opening.
Just stay to the right going in.

Asked the wife what she wanted to do while I am in town the next two weekends. She said as we started our drive this afternoon she is not going on the water. Boy am I going to miss her. I could be persuaded on Friday Since I am taking the day off. Maybe I need to reach out to good old @buggerray, @Wheeler or whatever his name is this week.

I thought about taking the boat down to Parker Friday, with the Sundance deal going on I may just stay up in havasu and watch the bridge lighting ceremony
