Yep, I had a truck and boat set up that had a F1 formula boat that the batteries were in the cowl of the boat and there was 2 little contacts on the transom

Same! We had one (my brothers and I) and my cousin had another. I remember 1 had a Evinrude and the other a Merc. Weirdly, the Merc sank and the Evinrude floated. That was what we decided made the Merc special. Mercury engines were just full of hot air like a Evinrude. lol!
