Maybe you're confusing the Hilborn 4 hole with the mini air scoops....?

Much appreciated, I actually picked up the Herbert at pomona a few years ago, the hilborn setup is from a good friend and a member I got today... we've been going back and forth for many years on it. He wanted to move it to finish his v-drive project tho. Needless to say I'm very happy to have it now. If I can weather the storm of opening my shop I will have one of these on my runner, but for now I'll just keep them safely kept. Lol

I’ve only seen 2 other Herbert hats.
Used to buy parts from him at his shop just off the 5 in Anaheim in the 80’s.
Amazing guy!
Got Polio in the 50’s and still continued with his passion for Motorsports.
He was the first person to run a roller cam shaft. He was a Harley guy and adapted the concept to race engines, even taught himself to make his own camshafts!
Could not have been more than 50 to 75 of those hats made. Super cool that you have one!
Really the choice you have between the 2 is drivability.
Many of the K guys ran the 4 hole Hilborn for that reason.
Nowadays we build a progressive linkage for that purpose for the 3 hole style.
Tough decision but the Herbert polished up would be a great conversation piece.
Would be really cool to use it on a period correct hot rod flatbottom for sure.
Note, if you’re gonna run either one on a tunnel ram, make sure you run your nozzles in the intake ports and not the hat.
Makes a big difference.
