Which movement is the breitling using?

I find their faces kind of busy, but totally get the allure of the brand.

Is that a dual date wheel? Sure is nice and big.

Most people don't know the Breitling Navitimer was the original "big diameter watch".

UD

It’s big but not the holy shit is that a wall clock on your wrist big, lol
It’s a 9k+ watch I got for considerably less, plus 2 additional straps croc and baby calf leather and clasp worth another 1200 or so. It was an offer I couldn’t refuse
Orig case, box, receipts, bezel Cover, everything

Had to get something, my ex stole my submariner and traded it for a rock, lol

MOVEMENT
Manufacture Breitling Calibre B05, officially chronometer-certified by the COSC, selfwinding, high-frequency (28,800 vibrations per hour), 56 jewels. Over 70-hour power reserve. 1/4th of a second chronograph, 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers. Worldtime. Calendar.

CASE
Steel, black steel, 18K red gold or diamond-set 18K red gold. Water-resistant to 100 m. Screw-locked crown. Cambered sapphire crystal, glareproofed on both sides. Transparent sapphire crystal caseback. Diameter: 49 mm.

DIAL
Steel version: Royal Ebony, Arctica, Neptune.
Red gold version: Royal Ebony, Arctica.
Diamond-set red gold version: Arctica Diamonds.
“Midnight Carbon” black steel version: Royal Ebony.

STRAP
Leather, crocodile leather, rubber, Crocodile rubber/Speed

One of my favorites... white faced white gold daytona.
I have a 1969 GMT Pepsi addition. My Jeweler told me to park it like a classic car and only wear it on special occasions. So yesterday I was looking at a white face Daytona

I have had and sold 5 Breitling's (one to a member here). 2 Bentley's, 2 Flying B's and a Cronomat. Had a buddy buy out a jewelry stores remaining watch collection that was going out of business in Key West so I got a good deal on them. I like the Breitling and wore the Bentley for a while but it was too big and from all the research I did, I found that it was not 100% water resistant and they do tend to leak. Sold them all...Wish I would've kept the Cronomat though. I wear a black GMT Master II everyday. I like a nice watch :D

Solid. American craftsmanship.

BTW Gramps (jumping thread a bit) your suggestion on the delta volt line of chargers was damm good advice.
The new ones have wireless in them that will update you on Amps removed, amps to full , and time to full and total cycles.
You really did me a favor sending me to them.

Yeah the Breitlings are more of a pilots watch than a boaters watch to me cause of the waterproof aspect
Never have collected them, but they sure have a following.
Lots of their stuff has ETA movements, they seem to have stepped it up with this latest bentley being their first in house movement in a long time.

To me the ETA based stuff is the equivalent of a small block chevy - very good stuff, works great easy to fix and get parts - but not remotely exotic with no platform to appreciate on.

GMT's a solid daily driver sir!

14060 No Date Sub is my daily driver - honey badger (minus the lisp of course)

Two left. I rarely wear watches so they spend most of the time in the safe.

It looks good on the lady!

The cool thing about watch collecting is the there is something for everyone at every price point both new and used.

amazing how SS picks up scratches. Brushed finish holds up better than polished.

Dude why dont you give her some love?

She'll polish back to where she was when you got her- minus the wear in the links.

Bezels in great shape for a 2o year old.

After the boat gets upgraded to something with an outdrive behind it :), I have always wanted an Omega Seamaster, in particular some of the James Bond editions, they just keep going up in price though. Rolex Sub Mariner was the first nice watch I ever liked and wouldn't mind one of them as well.

The Sea Master is one of the few worthy Omegas for sure - a solid second choice behind the Submariner.
Some prefer it, either way that seamster is a solid pice. Most of Omegas stuff these days is shite but they have bright spots in the lineup for sure.

The licensed watches.... 007, Aston Martin, Bentley, etc... never been a real huge fan of the license deals.
Doenst mean they arent good pieces for certain but license subjects favor comes and goes.
Its smart marketing if you have the ability as a manufacturer - its desirability as an investment piece is a bit less.

My Deepsea Sea Dweller triple-six (116660).

IMG_9542.JPG

Because my pool is 10 feet deep and I needed to ensure my watch could withstand the pressure [emoji4]

I have a thing for dive watches.
Sort of by happenstance, my entire collection is a bunch of variants of the same damned dive watch.

I also like ‘em chunky, only one watch I own fits under a cuffed long sleeve shirt. Thankfully I don’t need to get dressed up like that very often.

The only other Omega beside the seamaster I really like. Is that a manual wind or automatic?

I love the speedmaster and do not have one in my collection currently. A situation I consider rectifying every time I see one.

Lots of subtle details like how the second hand pip rests in the center of the Omega symbol....

the man on the moon is the value appreciation edition, but Id be fine with the regular manual wind chronograph.

Boy DLC - thats a contrast.

Iv seen Ebels many times. they are pretty damm nice watches.
Their in house 137 movement vs the standard eta modded stuff they put inside watches-seems a fine piece so Im surprised that they get beat up on the used market. Never figured out why but a nice piece especially with the in house movement.

My therapist adviced me to stop wearing a watch, to help with my OCD, I would drive myself nuts by constantly looking at the time [emoji202]

Wonder what she might say about looking at my phone twice as much as a,watch [emoji6]

I keep an eye out for them and don’t see very many of them. I also like to window shop, you never know if something catches your eye and don’t see them for sale or stores that stock them...

I have a few Omegas, and also still don't have a Speedmaster or Aqua Terra...they're on my list.
But the Speedy I like gets no love from the purists.
I want an automatic 9300 Co-Axial. 44.5mm, its chunky enough to hang with my dive watches LOL

Mine is the 1863 movement, manual wind, "Saphire Sandwich". (None of the "Moonwatches" were automatics). I look for the early 321 movement on occasion but they are harder to find.

Also have two utility grade Omega's for bumping around. One is from the late 50's and is the thinnest automatic I have ever seen.

Would like a smooth face Submariner or GMT next...

The 321’s can be had.
But sellers know what they have, and they’re pricey.

I love watches. Next one will be either a Breitling or an Omega. I know it’s not the best or most desireable in the world of watches but this one is my favorite. My uncle gave it to me when he was dieing. I love the size and the way it looks.

Left to Right
  1. Rolex Datejust - Stainless and Gold with Jubilee Bracelet
  2. Rolex President Day/Date in 18K with Bark Finish (wedding present from my Bride (34 years ago)
  3. Rolex Daytona in Stainless with Leather band (Hidden Clasp)
  4. Frederique Constant - Dual Time (Ultra thin dress watch with 2 time zones)
  5. Tudor Tiger Chronograph with Alligator/Leather Band and hidden clasp
  6. Tudor Tiger Chronograph with Stainless Band.....Also have the Alligator/leather band and end links but I like the stainless as it's better for in and out of water.
  7. Rolex GMT Master II with Jubilee band in Silver and Gold (This band no longer available with GMT)
  8. Carrera Twin Time with Leather band and hidden clasp

I used to travel extensively and twin time was great.....but I pretty much just wore the GMT II as it was the easiest to change time zones!!

Anymore I just have them and rarely change them out......although today I did take off the Datejust for the 1st time in 4 or 5 months and I'm wearing the Tudor Tiger with the Red Alligator Band.....one of my favorites!!

I always liked that Blue Submariner!!! I had and wore that watch for a number of years until a big dude with a stocking mask and a 12GA decided he wanted it more than me one night coming out of my office in Dallas.......he looked like he needed it more than me at the moment so I let him have it:eek:
