Listen cowboy you posted an opinion on an open forum, don't get all upset because I have a different opinion! Like I said earlier, I'm playing devils advocate here. I would not advise you to sell off your property to chase the upside down asset but you come here and bitch about the banks and not getting a loan mod and being upside down in your house like your a big victim. You and the bank had an agreement.....and me and every other person in this country is paying for it.

I never called anyone a thief. I agree it was a business agreement and he made a business decision to let the house go. But if you really want to look at both sides, the taxpayers are paying for him and the banks private agreement. Im not saying thats his fault but I also don't like that we are setting a precedent that its ok to default on your loans. Or that strategically defaulting from time to time is a great business idea.

now, Im sure nobody on this forum did this..... but are you aware that many people pulled all their equity and bought boats, cars etc. Then quit paying their mortgage and lived in the house for free for 4 years then got a loan mod and a principal reduction courtesy of the tax payers! Maybe Im "off Base" like you say but that just doesn't seem right to me.

Not only are you crying over spilled milk, but the milk has gone bad. This was all pre-planned by our friends on Wall Street and the government. Think about it captain know it all, the treasury secretary used to work in Wall street and made a fuck ton of money. So what would his interest be in working in the White House? Take a look at Obama's and even Bush's admin. Most of them had big ties to WS and the Banks. So if you want to be pissed of at someone, be pissed at them.

Josh909 made a wise decision. I would have done the same! Sorry but I'm not going to spend years trying to re-cooperate a debt just to protect my ego. One thing you need to understand is a home is not an asset, it's not an investment....It's a liability. An asset puts money in your pocket, a liability takes money from your pocket (mortgage, taxes, maintenance, repairs, insurance, utilities and so on). He made a wise financial decision to let it go! However I think a short sale would have been better for several reason., but that's beside the point. He did nothing illegal, he didn't buy it with the intention of fucking anyone over. The market changed, he made an observation, got advice from a few professionals and made a decision that he felt best served his pocket book and his family. Most people in his shoes would do the exact same.

Again, how about you focus more on why the country and the world is in this mess. You wanna talk about fucking over the tax payer?...Well how about the Federal Reserve? They just keep printing more money and destroying our dollar. All the countries holding the dollar want to dump it, but they are waiting for the right time and when they bail, they are all going to do it at the same time and we are fucked! How about you focus on congress voting for a TARP bill to bail out a PRIVATE bank. The only way a bank should get public funds is if it serves the public's best interest. Good ol' Rockafeller fucked that all up for us years ago and started a new trend. This is the bail out that was so important those voting on it were not even given time to read it because it need to be passed asap! But when it did pass, Obama took a vacation and waited 3 days to sign it. Weird right?....Look all this shit was pre planned. Stop harping on this guy and focus your anger on those who made this situation possible!

ok gotcha. not going to go back to debate it..i actually dont think there should of been any mods, pay your fucking bills that you sign your name to..bottom line, you cant pay then you dont own them..

problem is to many good working folks didint do that, so i feel for the ones that lost thier income when tryin to do the right thing..:thumbsup:D

Actually, my apologies he state she lost her job in his first post. My initial concern was that he said the bank told him he made enough money to pay loan so I was curious why he didn't stay and continue to pay.

;)

Im not mad at josh 909...hell I don't even now the guy or his situation. I didn't say he did anything illegal. Like I've said several times, people that say this whole situation is the banks fault and they are not fucking anyone are wrong. The tax payers got hosed on this deal, again thats not his fault but it doesn't make it ok. I agree this situation is the problem of our government but to say the people aren't a part of it is ridiculous.

It's not easy.

Oh, and BTW, I have $2.5 million dollars worth of leins on my house that is worth about $200,000 at best and I'm still paying....do I get a 2FORCEFUL award or something?

Just walk away! Just kidding....well kind of. How does that even happen? Markets on its way back, that bitch will be worth 3.5 before you know it!

Oh I completely believe in personally responsibly!!!!:thumbsup

.... Whatever happens is to a person is usually created by actions one took. Could one have avoided his situation? Of course! But some people just didn't know. They thought they were doing the right thing and were optimistic about their decisions. I just don't really like to harp on people that tried to do things the right way and were blindsided with reality. Could you say it was their own fault?..Of course, but I don't really like to do that. I'm in the business of helping people sort out these issues. Do I run across some people that were just 110% financially irresponsible? You bet! I think Josh909 had good intentions and he properly exercised his options. At least he's a stand up guy that is trying, unlike the millions collecting welfare and other free crap that hurts tax payers like you and me.

Now can we get back on track?!?!?!?!?!?! What's up with Ted?

Look,I didnt post my story as a way to bitch about anything. I was just a bit hurt that a person in my situation could somehow be grouped into the same as this guy that basically stole from his clients to make money. I apperciate all the opinions, both good and bad. Leaving that house was a hard choice for me to make but it was absoutly the best choice. I currently own $207,000 on my new house. That's what I was upside down on the old one.

I'm completely blown away that this boat broker could steal someone's dreams like that. It's people like that who are ruining America.

Yours is not a story of lying, theft and deceit. Ted's story is.

OK. We'll fast forward to what the end result of this mess is. Ted is going to jail. Either a bunch of buyers or a bunch of sellers and/or some banks are going to lose a shitload of money and they will never recover it because it is gone.

No i think hes moving boats around right now I Just Drove by there

What are you thinking talking about Ted right now. We are discussing home loans and credit reports:D

Seriously, I'm a bit more curious to see if he's "moving" boats around for the customers or his benefit right now.

Shannon let us know when he has his boat, Ted hasn't returned any calls to Tom or suggested he'd be getting his money. Warrant, LMFAO!!

Hey phil what's up? Well my buddy went to get his boat and Ted had no propane in his forklift, so my buddy went and got propane then Ted got his boat out for him. My buddy asked him if all he heard was true and Ted said there are two sides to the story?

The charges listed earlier in this thread regarding Ted's arrest were 1551.5 P.C., with is the arrest/hold authority for booking someone on an out-of-state warrant into a California jail.
To put that warrant into NCIC requires that the issuing agency in another state is willing to come get Ted and take him back there if he can't bail. Ted also has a chance to see a local judge and ask to be released on the out of state hold, but it was a rare thing in my career to see that happen.

So Ted did something someplace else that really pissed some folks off, and he either conned a judge or bailed out.
Either way, 1551.5 means no local charges were involved in that arrest.
