I been with Farmers for a long time but my rates just went up. Not sure if it is time to shop rates? I only had one claim in 15 plus years with them about five years ago for a pretty bad fire at a rental.

Same here... following this thread... I shopped once about 2 years ago and prices were in line with what I was currently paying, but I just feel they has to be better out there.

The majority of our stuff is State farm...but we have a huge mixture of business, personal, auto, and rental properties as well as declared value policies. We use Wozencraft insurance agency to handle it all.

Wawanesa! If you have a clean record, they seem to be the best price and quality. At least I don't have any complaints.

Farmers. While not the cheapest I've had zero issues with claims and customer service.

I've got Mercury for both and the rates seem fair to me. I've only had one claim, auto, with them in 20+ years and it was handled great!

Allied insurance for my house, Safeco for my rentals, Geico for my car and boat.

Allied insurance = Nationwide Insurance

Safeco = Liberty Mutual

We have farmers for everything. Sounds like you need a better agent. Some of may remember that my boat sank and was $38K to repair. I thought for sure that they would total it and I would just get another boat. Nope, our agent had it covered for $45K way more then we paid for it. Started to have a issue with the repairs and she got on the phone and told them that we are long time clients. Not one issue after that. They even worked with eliminator for the repairs and did not have to send a adjuster out.

Her name is Kim Terrel and she is in Torrance. 310-567-7726. Tell her mike and Lunden Irwin gave you her info.
Hope she can help you out

Just about all insurance companies have rate increases pending in the 7-15% range.

Shop around and try and package everything so you get multi policy discounts.

StateFarm for everything (auto, boat, home, PAF, unbrella, etc). Shop the insurance every year and while I have a couple quotes lower (2-5%), the customer service I received with SF is worth paying a little more. Have had no issues when a claim is filed.

AAA is hands down the best when it come to service. I've seen it from both sides of the fence.

State Farm is the best value. My rates go down every year. (check their website. All the requirements for this are stated there) . I have State Farm for everything I own. They love me (meaning my money). 😜

State Farm has my Auto's, Home and Boat insurance.

I was in a car accident 2 weeks ago messed me up good and 7k in damage to my truck. Well there were 5 people involved, and I was the last car that got it and the 2nd most damage from the impact. Well since all insurance companies are fighting about who is at fault I decided to call SF and just file my claims with them and let them go after the insurance company.

First, I got the first check minus my deductible, well had to take it for the mechanical stuff and provided them a supplemental invoice for the work, and they wanted me to tear the truck back down have them inspect every part to make sure it wasn't from the accident. They said if they deemed that it might not be they won't cover the tear down. I said no that is BS! I bought this truck in Sept and there were ZERO issues with it and it has 46k miles on it. I told them I haven't heard from the medical dept, and I have been to the hospital, Orthopedic surgeon and now w are deciding what I need to do with my back now.

I told them you know just deal with my attorney at this point, because I am over it.

I was really happy with them until this accident that was not my fault.

I just changed my Homeowners Insurance last month.
So I had Nationwide when we first bought here. Premium was about $2400/yr. Then had a $71K fire claim in '07 and they raised premium to over $7K. That is there way of getting rid of me without them canceling me. Had to move to State Farm $2500/yr. They would increase a few bucks every year. Then to Geico, 2400/yr.
About 8 months ago a rep for First American Property and Casualty came by my office with our Title company rep. Thought nothing of it but called last month. Pissed- I should have called sooner! $1171 with more coverage and lower deductibles. This also covers my 102 year old cash register (10K) and a art statue (10K) with an extra endorsement. Vintage cars are 100% covered if anything falls or damages them (separate from classic car policy).

Had over $60.000 in claims last year with no hassle, no rate raise.

They do a drive-by every year to insure I've cleared the hillside of brush and no ferns growing on the house structure.
7 breeds of dogs are not covered if they attack someone. That number may have risen.
Bulldogs, Huskies, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Pugs, Pits, Dobies,, a few other.

Since the day we were married I have no insurance. My wife is Mexican and she showed me the ropes. If we hit someone we run! If we get hit by someone we get the best attorney (no out of pocket expense) and collect thou$and$. This may all come to a crashing halt this January 17, 2017 when the new Jefe takes over...

USAA does not do vintage/collector car policies. In Arizona if you have a specific collector/vintage car policy even for late model cars, you are not required to undergo emissions and you can register the car for 5 years. That is a big deal as most of this stuff will never pass emissions.

Yes and no. I have a pic that will break my heart and probably yours too if I show it. Let's put it this way. Last pic I have of it- is laying face down and this repair cannot be under the insurance due to how it ended up on the floor. It is waiting for Restoration from Ricks Restoration here in Vegas.
Built in 1913 it is a 1914 model. Stands about 5' tall and has 7 or 8 drawers. All drawers have their own bells. Only piece that was missing was the top sign. Came out of Great, Great Grandfather's barn in Missouri.
Promise to show the pictures when it's done.
