I'll admit it, no. Most those who don't probably won't say though. My view, which others may dispute, if I am going to put my finger on the trigger, there is no other option. It would be an innocent life, or that of the aggressor. My own would not so much be in the equation, my wife and kids' would be paramount.
In this life you deal with the consequences of your actions, all of us.
Like they say, "Better to be tried by twelve than carried by six".

So, a lot of posts on here regarding fuk'd up situations where a firearm may/would have made the difference as of late and they are well beyond becoming all too common.

Never in my life did I think I would need to have a weapon while boating. I almost needed it for a dog attack on the sandbar where a P-bull went after a little kid but thankfully it was over just when the grip hit my palm. I cant imagine the trauma that would've caused my two daughters seeing that and it was worthless dog!

I've had a concealed license for 8'ish years now and have never been an all the time/daily carry type of guy. I guess it's past time to protect me and mine and start carrying all the damn time. I hate every fuk'n person or situation that has brought me and the rest of us to this point...😥

P.S. edited because I re-read and realized how stupid some of the shit I typed was. I may have had a bit too many whiskey and cokes.😳
I carry, but never at the lake until this year, for the exact situation you just described. With my twins we will be at sandbars this year playing, and I do not want to be caught off guard by a wild animal or a dog.

About 90% on my body, 10% within 4’. I hope I’m paranoid, wrong, and it’s a complete waste of time, but in 2023 it can happen ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, TO ANYONE. Where you live, what you drive, or how you dress is no longer an issue, thanks to George Soros - litterely the devil on earth.

I'm curious if you guys that carry have Liability Insurance in the event that you use your firearm against someone.
They don’t offer it in New York . Only to retired police

Yep
NY, New Jersey, and Washington State do not allow private citizens to obtain self defense insurance.

Nope…. Cannot get a CCW in my county…. San Mateo.

I anticipate that when they lose the “may issue” lawsuit, they will just find another reason to restrict CCW’s

Yep, the CCW laws sure keep law breaking people from carrying illegal weapons.
Fortunately, these people don’t go that extra step to learn how to shoot, which lowers the threat. Also, seems like once these folks reach felon stage, they always have a weapon nearby, which is worth a trip downtown.

My EDC, I also carry an extra 17 round mag. Hoping I don’t have to use it but I’m ready to take care of business if it comes down to that.

Terrible story of the one time I've had to use the gun I've carried holstered to my bench seat for over a decade......

I was on I40 headed East toward Prescott to pick up a load of milled feed. Lots of stock trailers headed the same direction as the livestock auction was the next day. I was slowly gaining on an old open top trailer, could clearly see they were dragging something, so I stayed back until I knew an exit was ahead. As I pulled up to motion them over, it hit me. They lost some planks inside this trailer and a steer was dying a horrible death as two legs fell through and were being ground to nubs for miles. This young couple just waved me off for about a mile until I about put my truck into theirs.
This trailer died in a field years ago and had no business being on the road. No mats inside (which would have saved this steers life). The wife is hysterical, hubby has no idea what to do. "Man, you have to put him down right now." He told me he didn't have a gun. Fuck me.
I had him out of pain 30 seconds after the guy told me that. Typically, I'll take pics of a roadside shitshow. This was so horrible, I just couldn't. He was ground above what used to be his knees, into the shanks.

After 30+ years of carrying in one form or another- this is the only time I've had to pull a gun. That's the only silver lining to this story.

before I retired as fire chief I carried while "on duty" had to put down many deer that cars and motorcycles hit on the local roads. A small Beretta "bob cat" 22lr in the ear works great!!!!

Ugh, I'd have paid full price to NOT be a part of that deal.

I used one of my comealongs to reposition it, then said to just keep it so I know they'd make the trip. Gave them the address to the transfer station and donated one of my snatch chains knowing the transfer has a backhoe to pull this thing out of the trailer. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

It's been a while snice I checked, but most California gun laws are misdemeanors. You can open carry as long as it's unloaded. If they catch you with a loaded concealed weapon most Penal Code sections are misdemeanors.

I've found I'm a lot less likely to talk shit to someone when I carry. Ironic, I suppose. But I don't want to put myself in any kind of situation that might cause a physical confrontation if I can avoid it. So I'm more inclined to keep my Italian mouth shut. 😜

Common sense as far as I know but Its OK , never mind 🤣
For the record, I never answered the original question. Because I agree generally thats for me and my family to know.

All I was saying is, if you live in California. The lovely government already let the list of state wide ccw holders slip out. Not gun owners, ccw holders. My point was, if you went through the steps to obtain a ccw. Chances are you did so to carry. Thus, whomever you're concerned about knowing if you carry. Can already get that information and make that assumption.

Carry on everyone.

Not my point , yes "they" know what one might have or own , boasting about carrying lawfully or not isn't a good idea IMO
You're entitled to your opinion. Personally, I don't see why it matters as long you have a permit. The government knows I carry, and they are okay with it. I don't see why I would care if people on this forum knew. I'll probably never meet 95% of them in person, and those that I have, I consider friends. Maybe you are implying that someone may recognize me from my avatar, or other information posted, and try to take my weapon from my person. That seems highly unlikely to me, but I suppose it is possible.

Maybe I just don't have any common sense 🤷‍♀️

Now, I am reluctant to share how many firearms I may have and photos of them. Especially with serial numbers, but that's me. I don't do that anywhere. Not on IG, FB, or any community forum. Nowhere on the internet or in texts or emails.

You cannot open carry anymore. If you are caught with a concealed carry without a CCW it is a misdemeanor if the gun is in your name, if it's some else's gun then it's a felony.

go troll someone else

Do you believe posting that you carry will somehow make a good shoot be judged bad? Make the penalty worse if caught carrying when shouldn't be?

Or somehow make you more vulnerable to theft or confiscation?

Because neither of those are commonsensical.

I politely ask you to leave it alone and move on , once more move on I have no interest in discussing this further , Beside you might resort to more childish name calling I'm not sure I could be more clear ?

Why else would one go through the trouble of obtaining a ccw, other than to carry? If it was a lift of gun owners I would agree with you. But a ccw has a pretty specific purpose.
I agree 100% . Now in New York there is no open carry and if there was I would still choose to ccw. Too much f@cking drama.

Let's just say that Havasu is known for a city of f*** around and you will find out. And as far as who carries all of us will say this is what happened a few years ago.
