I couldn’t swim in a pool at night until I was like 30. That movie scared the shit out of me. My parents took me to a drive in to see it. [emoji2361]

I saw it in the theater. In Martha's Vineyard, in the town of Edgartown where they filmed it. Consequently I didnt go back in the water after the movie. It was far too real seeing everywhere they had filmed in real life.
I love Marthas Vineyard. Grew up an hour or so from Woods Hole. Probably 4 hours with todays traffic and it sucked then. The Bourne bridge always scared the shit outta me as a kid.

I honestly dont remember the reasons for my family going there, but we went for several summers. Took the ferry out of Woods Hole, always stayed in Edgartown. For a California kid it was pretty cool thinking about the history of the place. We saw grave markers from like the 1600's so its definitely got the history. Great beaches, bike riding. Still remember this crazy ice cream place in Edgartown called Mad Martha's. Probably long gone now like a lot of other things. Very laid back place. I havent been back for years, maybe it needs to be a bucket list but I'd probably just ruin the memories.

I saw it at the Torrance Drive-In.

For those of you in SoCal, just a few years after the movie, the worlds largest Great White Shark was caught, just off Catalina. I think it was 20’. That record has been broken multiple times since, but I went all through high school knowing the biggest Jaws ever caught was just off the coast of where I lived. It never slowed me down, but I must admit, I thought about it quite a bit. My Dad would say “more people die each year in shopping cart accidents, then die by shark attack”. To this day........ I still have never heard on the news of somebody dying in a shopping cart accident!

Shopping carts can be dangerous, interesting video:
